bchhotel/elmdal02: The Elmdale at 6 G St., date unknown. (Courtesy Ben Hellberg) Elmdale was formerly "The Woods" owned by Frank L. Woods, who is listed in the 1921 directory at that location on G St. Hellberg says building dates from about 1898 and was built by a doctor as a residence. Johnsons got it after he died, which was 8/24/1935. Notice of his death is in Hampton Union on 8/29/35, p.1. He was murdered by a lodger. Followup article in following week's paper.
