ET - THE EASY TICKETING, “ET” for short, is the AEP ap-plication suite for the Electronic Ticketing. Small, medium and large transport companies can now access to a mod-ular, easy-to-use, high quality solution. Capable to quickly offer a solution, the system uses AEP devices such as vali-dators, vending machines, on-board computers etc. with the guarantee of one supplier who is open to communi-cate with the world.JUST ONE SET OF CODE: ET has been developed by fol-lowing a logic that is similar to the other AEP devices, and is founded on just one set of code which is the same for all users, small or big as they could be. It is composed of in-dustrially designed standard modules i.e. rationalized and well-engineered. A personalization is achieved through parameters to respond to the Company’s needs with no need to customize the product. When very necessary, these are incorporated in the base code and made avail-able to all Customers.MODERN ARCHITECTURE: relatively speaking the ET project is quite new and thus has taken the advantage of the most recent IT technologies such as e.g. the web-ser-vices.WEB BASED: ET is based on a web server architecture and can be used by an unlimited number of workstations with an ordinary browser such as MS Internet Explorer, and any PC connected to the company network or to the Internet. Some applications can also be operated locally as to guar-antee the service continuity in case of communication channel failures.MODULAR AND FLEXIBLE: ET is structured in modules and can be introduced gradually, this growing with the

Company’s necessities. Each additional module or sub-module is available as an add-on, thus reducing the initial investment to respond to the actual requirements.

OPENNESS: thanks to the extensive use of web service, ET structurally guarantees the possibility to integrate with other platforms like accounting, balance sheets, manage-ment of financial flows etc. , with all easily imaginable ad-vantages.

MULTI-COMPANY: ET is based on a multi-company structure and is suitable for Companies which work syner-gistically to form a centralized area service. ET provides e.g. a feature to establish just one Regional Centre, which is able to offer its services to each Company that, with a significant investment reduction, retains an independent and complete management.

COMPLETE: ET offers many modules to cover all possible needs of an electronic ticketing: central system, ticket of-fices and outlets, web sites, self-service vending machines, on-board systems, web shops etc. and includes the possi-bility to add some typical function of big systems, such as a Remote SAM management and a Centre of Card Mass Issuing.

PERFECT INTEGRATION: The system software, firmware and devices have been conceived and designed by teams who work synergistically and are perfectly integrated.

EASY TO USE: ET has been rated as one of the most eas-ily usable e-Ticketing solution. The system has been based on the assumption that its users are not computer engi-neers but rather transport managers as opposed to IT specialists.

SUPERVISION AND CONTROL CENTER

ET-CSC represents the state of the art of the electron-ic ticketing for Public Transports.It is easy to install, configure and use. Any personnel, upon a minimum training and actually no help from the supplier, can easily start to define a new travel document or other system parameters.An integrated and evolved communication sub-sys-tem provides the functions to manage the connection with the peripherals devices and to carry out remote updates such as software or hardware configurations (FPGA).

HARDWARE PLATFORMS ET can be used on hardware platforms of different size: from a small physical server hosted by the company to multiple physical servers installed on the cloud or in a server farm.

INTEGRATION WITH THIRD PARTIESThe AEP systems are conceived as to be easily integrated with third-party applications through

the adoption of web services.

ON BOARD SUB-SYSTEM

The AEP product set gives the possibility to form a large variety of on board systems. A compact but nevertheless complete system can made out of just a multifunctional CDB-6 PLUS unit. With it the driver can sell tickets, renew/top-up smart cards and manage the bus services (shifts, rides…). The bus position can be determined with the aid of the embedded GPS unit. Delays and advances on the listed stops are also shown. Through a GPRS/UMTS connection, the CDB-6 PLUS is always in communication with the center and can receive all service parameters, the

software updates, send the bus position and the user transactions. The large variety of AEP devices and their configurability in versions and options guarantee the satisfaction of the most demanding requirements.In the picture shown on the left you can see the CDB-6 PLUS multifunctional unit, the Futura 3B multi-media validator, designed by Giugiaro, and the Futura 3A contactless validator, the most widespread AEP product, with 10.000 units manufactured to date.

ET-TICTickets from the office

ET-TIC is the software application designed to equip the ticket offices. It is completely integrated with ET and offer many func-tions such as:• traveler user data input and manage-

ment;• personalized smart card issuing, with

a thermographic printout of the user personal data and picture;

• sale and issue of paper travel tickets, contactless cards or magnetic tickets;

• card renewal or top-up.

In order to simplify its usability, ET-TIC can be configured as to show only a subset of its functions e.g. excluding the card issuing and leaving only the renewal and top-up.

ET-TIC communicates with the Control and Supervision Center and imports the configuration data (e.g. the updates of tick-et/price configurations), synchronizes the user data and exports to the central system the sales data as to feed the database for all subsequent data processing.

ET-TIC operates even without a stable con-nection with the center. Under such a cir-cumstance, all possible operations are still accessible.

ET-TIC-BUS Tickets on board

The driver can offer the large majority of ticket services on board by means of the ET-TIC-BUS module e.g. sale of single ride tickets and/or renew/top-up contactless cards.The module can also manage the data communication with the center, via GPRS / UMTS or Wi-Fi. ET-TIC-BUS can be used on the CDB-4 PLUS or CDB-6 PLUS multi-functional units.

ET-MOB Tickets wherever you please

MOB is the name of the AEP mobile application, which can be installed on various platforms such as a CDB-4 PLUS or Android mobiles or tablets. It provides functions to inspect electronic tickets, issue fines, sell tickets and renew/top-up a smart card. MOB is com-pletely integrated with the center through a UMTS/GPRS connection.

ET-TIC-TVMTickets whenever you please

By using the ticket vending machines, the users can buy travel documents even when the ticket offices are closed, e.g. at night, and enjoy the many services normally offered by a sales agent.The color touch-screen user interface provides a smooth way to easily self-buy paper, mag-netic or contactless tickets and to renew/top-up smart cards.ET-TIC-TVM works on the RTVM-T and RTVM-I vending machines, which accept payments in coins, banknotes (change given) and/or credit cards. The communication with the center is through a GPRS/UMTS modem, which relays also SMS and voice messages.

CSC

ET-CSC is the application for the Supervision and Control Centre and is the core of the ET system. Multiple Transport Companies can be organized in a hierarchical order and can work synergistically. Its function richness can make it the heart of a complete introperable regional system.

STKM

ET-STKM manages the Travel Document supports stock (smart cards, tickets etc.) as an integrated portion of the system. It en-sures the correct life cycle monitoring, from order to delivery, up to dumping, even in case of fault, loss or theft.

BO

ET-BO provides the functions to manage the user data in a back office environment as opposed to standing at the ticket office. The requests can come as compiled forms or possibly from the web shop, thus reducing the queues in the ticket offices and relieving the operators from stressing operations.

RSM

ET-RSM provides the centralized SAM modules management i.e. black lists, the remote activation and ceilings in order to enforce the system security. In case of theft, a device is automatically deactivated after a limited set number of operations.

HLP

D ET-HLPD has been specifically conceived for the help-desk manage-ment and keeps track of all service calls from customers or originat-ed by the Company itself. LM

W In just any e-ticketing system, the communication between the cen-tral system and the devices is very important. ET-LMW seamlessly manages this communication by offering to the user many diagnos-tic and service functions.

WSI

ET-WSI (Web Service Interface) provides a tool to the developers to integrate their applications with ET by a wide web service set to ac-cess to many functions of the ET-CSC Supervision and Control Cen-ter. It is the base over which you can create a personalized web site.

SPH

The service data (shifts, rides, stops, timetable etc.) is normally im-ported by ET-CSC from other specific applications by means of files or services of the ET-WSI module. ET-SPH provides the functions to modify this set of data in ET-CSC and then re-export them to the original system.

DTA

W The Electronic Ticketing System generates every day large sets of useful data for the Company management to analyze and drive the public transport organization. ET-DTAW offers advanced tools to analyze the data based on a Data Warehouse.

BUS

ET-TIC-BUS is the application for the CDB-6 PLUS, CDB-5 PLUS and CDB-4 PLUS on board multifunctional units to make them become the heart of the on board system, if not the only unit installed on board which, with the WT-VAL module, can also work as contactless/optical validator.

The company ticket offices are equipped with Point Of Sales (POS) composed of a PC, a thermographic printer for cards, a camera for pictures etc. ET-TIC is the application to manage all typical issuing, sales support functions of a ticketing office.

ET-TIC-MPC equips the stations to mass-produce coded supports, typically personal or impersonal smart cards, by using a high pro-ductivity printer.

ET-TIC-TVM is the multilingual application for the RTVM-I and RT-VM-T vending machines. Through the touch screen interface, it sells and distribute contactless tickets, smart cards and ordinary magnet-ic/paper tickets. It renews/top-ups the cards and accepts payments in coins, banknotes, credit cards and from an electronic purse. W

EBSR ET-WEBSR is similar to ET-WEBS but it is fit for resellers (bar, book-shops, kiosks etc.) which can offer a service of renew/top-up upon configurable payments. Just like ET-WEBS, it can be delivered with top-ups through blue lists or with remote SAM on HSM.

WEB

S ET-WEBS is the Web Shop engine, to renew/top-up travel doc-uments, to request a personal card and to offer other services through the Internet. A Web Shop is very convenient because it greatly reduces the ticket office workload and the costs related to sales. It can work through blue lists or remote SAM on HSM.

VAL ET-VAL is the validation module, which can be used by validators

and multifunctional units. It manages various types of contactless, magnetic and optical supports as well as generic paper tickets. It also carries out blue list based top-ups through the Internet.

B ET-MOB provides the function to verify, validate and sell travel doc-uments, as well as issuing fines from a compact portable device such as the AEP CDB-4 PLUS. M

ET-miniIV is the conjunction work with ET-miniFMS and provides the service details to travelers by means of an Internet connected computer, smartphones, tablets, stop poles, information panels, on-board and on-ground vocal messages etc.

S ET-miniFMS utilizes the AFCS infrastructure to monitor the bus fleet. You can see the bus position and analyze the service regulari-ty. At the same time, the driver is constantly informed on the travel delays or advances of his/her ride.
