IIt’sinhardtimesthatwelearnthatconnectionscount.

Today’seconomicrealityhasdevastatedorganizationslikeours.Acrossthecountry,plansfornewaffordable

homeslanguishbecausethemechanismthatencouragedbankstoinvestinthesepropertieshascollapsed.

Hundredsofplannedprojectsareindefinitelystalled.

Atthesametime,theneedhasneverbeengreater.HomelessnessinMinnesotahasskyrocketed22percentover

thepastthreeyears,whilepeopleearningthelowestincomesaresufferinganotherGreatDepression,facing

unemploymentashighas30percent.

We’veseenlaterentpaymentsincrease,andmanyofourresidentssufferthekindofstressthatcomeswith

profoundinsecurity.

Aeonisturningmorethanevertotherelationshipswe’vebuiltamongourdonors,funders,andfriends.Wecan’t

emphasizethisenough:youmakethisworkpossible.Onbehalfofthousandsofmen,womenandchildrenwho

nowliveindecent,stablehomes,thankyou.

Wewereabletopushforwardseveralimportantprojectsin2009.Webeganconstructionon61apartments

forformerlyhomelesspersonsseekingasoberenvironment.Wearerehabbing120dilapidatedapartments

inRosevilletocreatehigh-qualityaffordablehomes.Wealsocontinuedtomoveforwardonthreeother

developments:ahistoricrenovationinSt.Paul,newapartmentsforfamiliesinRoseville,andanewpropertyfor

seniorswithverylowincomesinChaska.

Remainingatthecenterofallwedoisourorganizationalvisionthat everyone has a home and is interconnected

within community.That’swhy,inadditiontocreatinghomes,wearefosteringthekindofcommunitythathelps

peoplethrive.

Weareproudtopresentour2009annualreport,whichhighlightsthemanymeaningfulconnectionsthatlinkus

togethertoachieveacommunitythatenrichesallofus.
