• Review of fairytale stories
– What happened during “The Three Little Pigs?”
– What happened during “Little Red Riding Hood?”
– What happens in both of these fairytales?
– Are there any characters that are in both of these stories?
Good Wolf vs. Bad Wolf
• Teen Wolf Movie Clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMyuv3wkTJs
– In the video is this wolf shown in a “bad” way? How do you know?
– How is this wolf different than the wolves shown in the fairytales we have read?
– Why do you think fairytales like, “The Three Little Pigs,” show wolves as such an
evil animal?
– Do you think that wolves aren’t as evil and mean all the time? Do they have
emotions like us? Why do you think this?
The Emotional Side
• how they all use different emotions constantly, every single day
– Ex) happy, sad, nervous, scared, angry
– will draw word maps to help students make connections on what is being discussed
• When was the last time you felt very happy? Sad? Scared? Angry?
• What made you happy? Sad? Scared? Angry?
• What do you do when you show all of these different emotions?
Put Yourself In The Wolf’s Shoes
• close their eyes and to imagine you are the wolf in “The Three Little
Pigs.”
– When you were the wolf did you like to stick with the story and become
the big bad wolf or change it up and become a good wolf instead?
Why?
– While you were imagining you were the wolf did you imagine the pig
being mean to you when you asked to come in or did the pig seem
scared?
– When you were going to try and enter the pigs house, what was your
reason for the visit?
– How can this effect how you would act as the wolf?
– Do you think other parts of the story can affect the way the wolf acts out
on the pigs?
– Do you think that other everyday factors also influence your emotions
daily? What are some examples?

– What was the hardest part of this activity? Why?
– What did you learn today from this whole activity and what we talked about earlier?
Evaluation

– observing my students in a systematic way
– student portfolios used throughout my school
year
• Formal- Rubric
Extensions/Modifications
• Use this lesson as a part of a bigger unit on wolves
• Lesson used around late October when werewolves would be
an amazing “hook”
• Some modifications to this lesson would involve not being able
to read all fairytales and previous material needed to discuss
this topic beforehand
