Cedar Rapids, IA Summer Concert Highlights Summer Cinema Galaxy: A Night full of Xavier’s talented stars Lauren Hunstad A&E Writer Last Friday and Saturday, Xavier students displayed their many different talents at the annual Galaxy Talent Show. There were nine acts in each show and seniors Jack Daubitz and Josh Dubois emceed both shows. Starting on Friday were sophomores Harry Daubitz and Brennan Graeve singing a vocal duet. Emma Hunt performed a dance solo for both shows. Both days finished with Jimmy Moore with Daniel C. and gang performing the Rush. Kicking off Saturday was again Harry Daubitz but with Cameron Junge featured on guitar. Later in the night Mary Mathis sang landslide. “It was a really cool opportunity and I got to sing for all my friends,” sophomore Mary Mathis said. A favorite act was Josh Rouse’s improv presentation. “It was so funny and clever, I wish I was that funny!” junior Alexa Jones said. There are many blockbuster hits coming to theatres this summer. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back in Men in Black III, which comes out on May 25. Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth, comes to theatres on June 1. The hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages comes out on June 15. The movie is set in 1987 Los Angeles. It follows two people chasing their dreams in show business. The film stars Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta and Tom Cruise. The Disney Pixar movie Brave will be released on June 22. Channing Tatum stars in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which will be released on June 29. The Amazing Spider Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, will be released on July 3. The Batman saga continues with The Dark Knight Rises, which will be released on July 20. Last Friday and Saturday, Xavier students displayed their many different talents at the annual Galaxy Talent Show. There were nine acts in each show and seniors Jack Daubitz and Josh Dubois emceed both shows.

Starting on Friday were sophomores Harry Daubitz and Brennan Graeve singing a vocal duet. Emma Hunt performed a dance solo for both shows. Both days finished with Jimmy Moore with Daniel C. and gang performing the Rush.
