The Story

Founder, Interior Designer & Decorator Jane Gorman has launched her second bespoke restaurant and cocktail bar in her collection. The Advocate has been established with the

goal of providing their guests with a memorable experience. The Advocate ensures that guests are presented with an

internationally inspired shared plates menu accompanied by an extensive wine and cocktail list.

As a designer and single mother who has raised three grown up children, Jane is dedicating a creative space to each of her

children that reflects their accomplishments and chosen careers. The Advocate is dedicated to her youngest son,

Christian. The Advocate is inspired by the English common law legal system as Christian is in his final year of law

school. Jane has also drawn inspiration from her travels to London and through English interior design concepts.

Jane chose Balwyn as the location for her second bespoke restaurant and cocktail bar due to the traditional English architecture within the community. Being an established interior designer and living in the local area, Jane knew

Balwyn was lacking for a luxurious space to entertain family and friends.

Bombay Sapphire Dry Using eight exotic botanicals, this classic London dry gin offers a more traditional taste with strong juniper flavours and a powerful dry finish.

78 Degrees Sunset Leafy, herbaceous, and floral due to the strawberry gum and Rosella, with the juniper adding notes of fresh pine.

Four Pillars Local Australian botanical notes, Tasmanian pepperberry, lemon myrtle, some exotic botanicals of cinnamon, cardamom, coriander seeds and star anise and some classic botanicals of juniper, lavender and angelica root.

Hendricks Juniper aromas with floral hints and a touch of musky rose, followed by a blanket of sweet orange, lime zest, and elderflower.
