Objectives
To constitute the Advocacy and Communication Working Group, review the implemented activities, propose new actions and define the Group’s work dynamics and plans
• Based on the Road Map, the group shall review and revise its own terms of reference and propose a preliminary version of these.
• According to the terms of reference outlined in the roadmap, the group shall nominate a group member to chair the working modalities and shall define the roles and responsibilities of the presidency.
• To strengthen the group’s work, names of specialists and institutions will be proposed to participate in the group by identifying the reasons and criteria for participation.
• Prepare a calendar of activities to be implemented in 2019, defining deadlines and assigning tasks among the members of the group.

Proposed and accomplished activities
❑ Launch of an E2030 LAC web platform
• A regional website needs to be developed
• UNESCO will contribute with a draft of a regional site that will be integrated within the global platform
❑ Contribute E2030 materials to the website
• UNESCO began an internal material recovery process and hopes that other members can share their materials such as board games, campaigns, and other best practices that can be replicated
❑ Participation of communications specialists in the coordination process
• Communication specialists from the member countries and institutions of the Regional Steering Committee are expected to support in the distribution and implementation of the campaign
❑ Coordinate dissemination of the campaign to be launched in 2020
• Member organizations should include the E2030 key messages in their communications, independent to the working group, but synchronized with E2030 messages

Member contributions
• The audience needs to be grouped and differentiated, the adaptation and definition of each message depends and audience
• Public communications specialists from each RSC member can disseminate messages through their social media and other platforms
• E2030 Ambassadors: Existing communication initiatives, like Champions for Change, Youth Ambassadors, and First Ladies of CARICOM, can also share the key messages to a wide range of communities
• Branding: develop a graphic image that can unify various campaigns in a message that has visibility and influence

Expert nominations
UNESCO suggests:
• Marianne Ponsford (director of the Regional Center for the Promotion of Books in LAC in Colombia)
Members agree on preparing a questionnaire to identify capacities and resources among group members to later identify possible nominations:
• Members will be able to draft and send a brief informal paragraph to other members with information about their relevant experience and the resources they can provide
• The group can identify the supports needed and nominate based on that information

PROPOSED FUNCTIONS• Lead the development of the work plan
• Lead communications with RSC and the technical counterpart (Co-chair, UNESCO)
• Represent the group at the meetings of the Regional Steering Committee SDG-E2030
• It is stipulated that the presidency may be of rotating nature
NOMINATIONS • Since only a few members attended the meeting, they can propose
candidacy by email by the following week.
• Members will have one week from receiving the minutes of the meeting to propose their candidacy for chair
