Advisory BoardsCA Code (edc: 54692)
(d) An assurance that each academy will be established as a "school within a school." Academy teachers shall work as a team in planning, teaching, and troubleshooting program activities. Classes in the academy program shall be limited to academy pupils as specified in subdivision (d). Each participating school district shall establish an advisory committee consisting of individuals involved in academy operations, including school district and school administrators, lead teachers, and representatives of the private sector.
Academy Team creates: Mission Statement (first draft) Vision for Academy Experiences by grade level
(example) 10th grade: ropes course, field trips, group mentoring, PBL
showcase, etc. 11th grade: one on one mentors, college trip, job shadows,
“pinning ceremony” 12th grade: leadership retreat, internships, senior exhibitions &
dinner

Membership recommend 6-10 people additional supporters can participate on sub-committeesPrivate Sector “Targets” Current school/program partners or supporters Related post-secondary education programs Administrators of related grants/programs Professional organizations related to the career themes VP level-type executives from career related companies
