Advent Letter from Prioress

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 Advent 2011 Dear Friends - Greetings to you from all of our sisters here at Saint Benedict Monastery! As we enter the season of Advent, our thoughts turn naturally to hopes for peace in our world, in our families, in our own hearts. Peace depends on all of us. In his ancient rule, our founder, Saint Benedict, urged us to become peacemakers: Let peace be your quest and aim. (Rule of Benedict) Jesus blessed the peacemakers, bestowing upon them the most favored status of children of God. Peace is the result of working for the good of all. We try to do that with our ministries and your faithful support greatly increases our ability to reach out to others. Whether is it volunteering your time, joining us for Sunday Mass or contributing to us financially, you are invaluable to us and we appreciate all you do to help sustain our community and its ministries. Transitional Housing BARN, Saint Gertrude High School, Linton Hall School, BEACON for Adult Literacy, Benedictine Counseling Services and the Benedictine Pastoral Center are all thankful for your generosity throughout the past year. God has richly blessed our monastic community with new vocations. With four sisters in first profession, three sisters in the novitiate, and four women living with us in discernment, we feel that the energy is here for the future of monastic life and ministry. Please join us in the work of peacemaking. Your generous donation will impact the lives of many and we know that God will reward your efforts. We encourage you to send us the names of those persons to whom you would want to give the peace of Christ through prayer this Christmas. We promise to pray with you daily. May you and your loved ones receive every blessing during this joyful season. May you know peace in your own heart as you practice it as a child of God. Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9

Advent 2011

Dear Friends -

Greetings to you from all of our sisters here at Saint Benedict Monastery! As we enter the season of Advent,

our thoughts turn naturally to hopes for peace in our world, in our families, in our own hearts. Peace depends

on all of us. In his ancient rule, our founder, Saint Benedict, urged us to become peacemakers: Let peace be

your quest and aim. (Rule of Benedict) Jesus blessed the peacemakers, bestowing upon them the most favored

status of children of God.

Peace is the result of working for the good of all. We try to do that with our ministries and your faithful support

greatly increases our ability to reach out to others. Whether is it volunteering your time, joining us for Sunday

Mass or contributing to us financially, you are invaluable to us and we appreciate all you do to help sustain our

community and its ministries. Transitional Housing BARN, Saint Gertrude High School, Linton Hall School,

BEACON for Adult Literacy, Benedictine Counseling Services and the Benedictine Pastoral Center are all

thankful for your generosity throughout the past year.

God has richly blessed our monastic community with new vocations. With four sisters in first profession, three

sisters in the novitiate, and four women living with us in discernment, we feel that the energy is here for the

future of monastic life and ministry.

Please join us in the work of peacemaking. Your generous donation will impact the lives of many and we know

that God will reward your efforts.

We encourage you to send us the names of those persons to whom you would want to give the peace of Christ through

prayer this Christmas. We promise to pray with you daily. May you and your loved ones receive every blessing during

this joyful season. May you know peace in your own heart as you practice it as a child of God.

Gratefully,

Sister Cecilia Dwyer, OSB

Prioress
