What is Retail Arbitrage

• Retail Arbitrage involves buying retail products and reselling them on Amazon

• This differs from Online Arbitrage (OA) which is buying online and reselling on Amazon

• We will primarily be focusing on Amazon

Ranks and Reviews

• Do not rely solely on ranks. They are just a snapshot.• Use the Ryan Reger Algorithm!• “[]” trick for each category to figure out how big a catalog

is• For example this picture below shows us doing this under

the “toys” category• The next step is to take 5% of that number to determine

rank. This would be only searching the top 5%.

Reviews: Specifically useful for Shoes and Clothing!

• See how MANY stars

• Feedback is not as important

• This example has over 607 customer reviews

• Compare with eBay! They show actual sales!

Buying Criteria

• I typically try to get 2.5-3 times the value on my returns

• Remember there is 15% commission, pick and pack fees, weight fees, etc.

• 4 for 15, 5 for 16, 10 for 27, and so on

• Camelcamelcamel, fbatoolkit, and other price/stock tracking systems

• If unsure add products to your cart, see if they sell then come back and buy them

Ultimately Automate your business

• Sellers like Eric Hardwick, Ken Kelly, David Shannon are a few guys to talk to about shoes!

• Returns are lower than you think, about 12% with shoes

• Clothing and shoes are priced cheap at outlets!

• Many approval CLASSES AND SERVICES OUT THERE!

Retail Arbitrage Planning

• Getting your day started early stores open at 7-10am!

• Before you leave! Check any store promos, check in with facebook groups, mobile groups

• Before you leave! Plotting the course!

• Logging your mileage

Before you hit the stores get a resalecertificate

• If you are excited go ahead!Everything doesn’t have to beperfect!

• Get a tax exempt/resale certificate

• Use this number when filing state tax

• Call you state office, or you can use different services like tax jar
