Advanced Objective: HVAC systems

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) often installed into a single system, these three

functions of the HVAC system are closely interrelated to provide thermal comfort and to

maintain good indoor air quality. HVAC is sometimes referred to as climate control because it

provides heating, cooling, humidity control, filtration, fresh air, building pressure control, and

comfort control.

HVAC is important in the design of medium to large industrial and office buildings such

as skyscrapers where safe and healthy building conditions are regulated with respect to

temperature and humidity, using fresh air from outdoors.

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) was

established to promote the HVAC industry in India.

Because HVAC systems account for so much electric energy use, almost every facility has the

potential to achieve significant savings by improving its control of HVAC operations and

improving the efficiency of the system it uses through proper design, installation and scheduled

maintenance.

The outcome of this advanced objective will be in form of the HVAC layout in the building with

proper load calculations and the tonnage required for this building.
