How does LPR work?

ZKTeco’s LPR (License Plate Recognition) technology a computer video image recognition technology applied in

license plate recognition. Upon vehicles’ arrival at carpark entrance, LPR camera automatically scans license plate

characters and identi�es license plate numbers, colors and other relevant information. If the numbers on license

plate are valid, barrier will be lifted for access, otherwise no access will be allowed.

Automatic Number Plates Veri�cation using Computer Vision Technology

LPR technology is an application of computer video image recognition technology in license plate identi�cation

area. Its operation starts when the vehicle is located at the entrance of the parking lot, the LPR Camera will scan on

the license plate character, and its recognition technology will identify the license plate number, color and other

information. If the number on the license plate is valid, the car park barrier will lift for access, otherwise, no access

will be allowed.

Vehicle Colour Detection using Computer Vision Technology

Vehicle Colour detection applies ZKTeco’s Computer Vision Technology, it is integrated with license plate

recognition and manufacturer recognition function for high preciseness of vehicle recognition.

ZKTeco’s automatic license plate recognition are able to detect up to 16 colours of vehicle including White / Grey

/ Gold / Pink / Red / Purple / Green / Blue / Brown / Black / Silver / Yellow / Tan / Yellow Green & Orange.

The system supports multi-factor authentication of the monitored vehicle for higher security level. Vehicles are

only allowed to exit with exactly same colour, manufacturer and licence plate number upon successful

authentication by the system.

Supports Multiple Countries’ License PlatesPowered by the computer vision technology, once a car enters a

parking facility, its license plate numbers are scanned and recorded

in the License Plate Recognition System (LPRS) database. It supports

identi�cation of various license plates ofm 27 countries.

Manufacturer Recognition using Computer VisionManufacturer Recognition is able to identify manufacturing brands

of vehicles, it can be integrated with license plate recognition and

Vehicle Type Recognition is a key function to the ZKTeco

parking system, which o�ers high accuracy of recognizing

vehicles’ type according to di�erent car sizes. It is able to

detect vehicle type of sedan and truck. Monitored

vehicles will be allowed to access and exit upon entire

matching with the information in the database.

ZKTeco’s Parking System solution o�ers two-factor authentication by using License Plate Recognition (LPR) and

Radio Frequency Identi�cation (RFID) systems. Apart from matching all information in the database, vehicles are

also required to present RFID cards for veri�cation to access.

Anti-counterfeiting License Plate SystemWith computer vision and deep learning algorithm, the

system’s anti-counterfeiting ability has been greatly

enhanced and is able to prevent fake license plate, photo

and video. Manually handheld license plates are easily

recognized and rejected by the LPR system, and user are

only allowed to exit by driving the same vehicle with the

exactly same license plate.

Support RTSPThe Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) is an open

industry protocol for IP-based Stremaing (audio / video) ,

ZKBioSecurity and License plate recognition use ONVIF for

most of the 3rd party cameras and NVRs integration to

enlarge its extension ability.

O�ine mode refers to that the LPR terminal itself can

mode, the templates and data cannot be updated and
