Advanced Bone Grafting, Built on a Strong Foundation

Bone Proteins

Accell® combines DBM, Reverse Phase Medium (Poloxamer) with Accell Technology to create Accell Bone Matrix (ABM), a patented dispersed form of DBM which offers a significant increase in surface area providing access to natural bone proteins delivering osteoinductive propeties.

• ABM is an open-structured, dispersed form of DBM, which provides immediate and sustained accessibility to bone proteins without the need to be broken down.

• Meets the needs of challenging surgical applications where robust handling is essential• Delivered in an easy-to-use syringe—no mixing or special storage

Accell vs. First Generation DBM after 4 weeks1

ControlMinimal bone regeneration observed at 4 weeks. Healing limited to area adjacent to host bone.

Skeletally mature sheep model. Cylindrical 5 mm metatarsal defect created in tibial diaphysis.

1st Generation DBMBone regeneration occurs throughout the defect, caused by the presence of DBM particles. The inert carrier has been metabolized. (DynaGraft II®)

More bone formation is evident immediately adjacent to the bone repair surfaces and within the interior of the defect. Accell delivers naturally-occurring growth factors.

The DBM is divided into two equal parts, and one part is entered into the Accell® process.

Step #1: DBM is dissolved using a proprietary process, creating a solution from which small collagen fragments, naturally occurring growth factors, and bone proteins are isolated and extracted.

Step #2: The extract is then combined with the DBM and Reverse Phase Medium, creating an advanced bone graft product.

E-Beam Sterilization: Every lot is sterilized using a low-dose electron beam, a process that has been shown to preserve the osteoinductive potential of DBM.2
