It is their job to bring the theatre experience to campus via workshops, cabarets, readings and many other ways. What many students dont know is that the NPP is the funds behind the black box productions. Without the help and support from this club the black box productions would be nonsexist. Current President Brittany Martel organizes play readings and cabarets, serves on the Theatre Council, conducted workshops and has gone an excellent job on improving theatre on campus overall. Previous plays that the NPP have helped put on in the past include Beautiful Thirsty Things, The Dark We Know, and Wendy, all entirely student written and produced, and all of which received a standing ovation during curtain call.New Paltz Players ClubThe New Paltz Players Club, or the NPP, was founded in 1967 and is one of the oldest clubs here on the New Paltz campus. The NPP is a student organization that is considered the general theatre club. It serves as a weekly forum that gives students the opportunity to collaborate on a variety of different projects with one another and allows us to celebrate the beauty behind theatre.Vivamus portaest sed est.

We want to show the rest of the SUNY New Paltz students all the talent and creativity that is present in the theatre department and demonstrate to them exactly what we are capable of. Through different media platforms, including the Little Rebellion and the Oracle, I believe we can reach out and appeal to this particular audience. By creating a promotional video we can show the transformation of the play from start to finish and give people an inside view on the process of the black box. We can show them the faces behind the characters and express to them what these productions mean and represent to us as well as the important message portrayed this particular show.

Since its such a heavy play, its hard to separate the play from your actual life. Lyke, an actor Last years black box production, Beautiful Thirsty Things, was written student by Michelle Rodriquez and directed by student Eric Glauber, the main actor in this years show. This play portrayed the overwhelming emotions, pain, and grief one experience upon losing a loved one. Many of the cast members heavily identified with their characters making it that much more of a passionate performance. Not only did this show receive a standing ovation during curtain call but also the performance had the audience in tears.Beautiful Thirsty ThingsThe cast had about 12 members and the play premiered in 2012 on campus. Overall the audience loved the performance and all the reviews were very positive. I wanted to explore how different generations of people coped during that time period - EliseenThe Dark We Know, written and directed by Alex Eliseen, was one of the first original student-written musicals on campus; the black box normally being straight plays. The plot took place during the socially crippling era of Nazi Germany and told the story of two families experiences. The Dark We KnowPAST PERFORMANCES
