WelcomeWelcome to the new Adult Education Service Course Guide for 2013/14. This guide aims to provide you with all the information you need about our courses to enable you to get the most out of your time with the Adult Education Service. We offer a wide range of vocational subjects; many may help you get back into work whereas others will give you an opportunity to simply learn a new skill or hobby.

We regularly ask our learners what they want to learn and much of the curriculum for this new academic year has been shaped by our learners feedback so your views really do count.

What’s New?Many of our learners have recently requested textile courses and we’re pleased to be able to offer you courses this year in Knitting, Patchwork and Quilting, Embroidery, Costume Making, Decorating and Accessorising Clothing and Bags. Please see page 14 for more information.

Do you fancy learning a new language? French, German, Spanish and Italian courses will be as popular as ever but we’ve also added Russian and Polish to our curriculum offer this year. Please see page 21 for more information.

We are continuing to grow the number of Apprenticeship courses on offer for young people and adults, over a wide range of vocational subjects. New for this year are Licensed Hospitality and Horticulture Apprenticeships. Please see page 7 for more information.

What Hasn’t Changed? We continue to be committed to offering a variety of courses that are good value, taught by good quality tutors and are available for you in the heart of your community. We offer courses in over 45 different venues around the East Riding and this year we have added new venues so that you’re sure to find something on offer near you. We look forward to seeing you on a course soon.
