NON-INFOGRAPHICFall 2014, Net ArtDigital Illustration1250 px. x 11285 px.

For this project I surveyed 10 people, I asked them what they would like to learn about before they died. I gathered minimal information about each of the request and I connected them visually. I want to prove that you don’t have to have the typical info graphic to communicate and connect people. The passion to learn can be used to connect us all. The graphic is long and endless just like our need for knowledge.

IN THE NAME OF NATUREFall 2014, Video ArtVideoLink to video (00:37)

This project touches on the theme of how much of the environment we sacrifice in order to learn, so that we can help the environment. How much of this nature will we sacrifice before we realize that we’re doing more destruction instead of benefiting?

I AM BLACKFall 2014, Mixed MediaDigital Illustration and Print11 in. x 17 in. Book

This project pushed me outside of my comfort zone when exploring my identity. I decided to dig deeper into my identity as an African-American. I was questioned many times last semester about how I define myself. I decided it was time to stop brushing the question off and take this seriously. The book starts off as “i lack” and transitions into I AM BLACK.

SUSTAINABILITY PART IFall 2012, WarpSculpture - Recycled Paper and Cardboard80 in. x 110 in.

This project was a mock collaboration with the artist Christy Rupp, who makes bird sculptures from chicken bones. I decided to make a tree sculpture from paper, dead trees. It is 100% recyclable. I decided to also include found typography to make an impact on how we need to recycle, yet these were all materials were all found in the trash.

SUSTAINABILITY PART IIFall 2012, Independent ProjectSculpture – Oyster Cells50 in. x 25 in.

I decided to continue working with materials that we waste. Here I used oysters from my hometown, Apalachicola. We call it Apalach for short and it is a very rural community that is also beautiful. This wall display represents the town using fancy typography made from very dull material.

This is a very personal project that describes my struggle with sickle cell blood disorder. It includes the shapes of actual sickle cells. The bed and cup represent how I’m always tired so I need rest and fluids. The eye represents that I may go blind. And the cup is colorful on the outside and dark on the inside. I also made a poster to give the viewer facts about the disease.

UP THE CREEK RAW BARFall 2015, Typography 1 (Revised)Digital Print8.5 in. x 11 in.

This restaurant is a very fun pet-friendly and family-friendly place where you can eat outside by the creek. It is right on along the water in the historic Apalachicola. The design is made to work as a souvenir, menu, and map all in one. When opened the front tell you what they serve and the back has a map The area is known as the “Forgotten Coast” and this a way the customer will not forget the area and also know how to find their way back up the creek.

“DON’T YOU GET WEARY”Fall 2014, Video ArtVideoLink to video (3:00 min)

This project is both a video installation and a performance piece. It shows a digital video projection on top of a blank protest sign that I’m holding. The projection shows the progression of protest signs. This project highlights the digital use of the millennial generation with the continuing stand for justice from the time of the Civil Rights Movement.
