Philadelphia Popers came out with full page pictures, I recognized him as the man I saw in Munich in 1912, although he had raised the wellknown mustache by that time.

In August 1946, I was walking along Chestnut Str.in Philadelphia, when I saw on the other Side a man whosemanner reminded me of A. H. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally succeeded to have a talk with him.He was an Austrian about 55-57 years old and had lived several years in Munich. Being smooth-shaven, just as I shim in 1912; there was no doubt in my mind, that A. H.was alive. He spoke a perfect English, with no accent whaever, which made me somewhat uncertain. At that time,

I am currently researching a book which will be based on the Hitler documents: personal will, political testiment and marriage certificate.

As the attached letter indicates, The Federal Bureau of Investigation cond""ted laboratory tests on the above mentioned documents to determine their authenticity. Because the documents, even in 1946, were

like to know if your considered to be of great public interest, I wouldorganization can offer assistance in the following areas:

l. What was the procedure for determining the authenticity of theabove mentioned documents?

2. whatwere the circumstances surrounding the arrival of thedocuments at the testing site?

a. Who brought the documents to the F.B.I.?

L. there were the tests conducted, andby whom? _c. when the tests were finalized, what happened to the

documents?

3. Does the Federal Eureau of Investigation have photographs of the documents? I amasking this question because even though

I do have xerox copies of the file, manyportions are almost illegible and are not suitable for reproduction.

Any assistance in this matter will be appreciated. Let me statethat I am seriously considering a publication on these documents, and this is an inquiry to determine what is available in background infor- mationfor this project. 'x~
