Early background
Adolf Hitler was born in Austria on April 20th 1889
Adolf Hitler grew up with and abusive father, but loved his mother very much.
Hitler tried to become an artist, but could only paint scenery.
He joined the army and served in WW1
Imprisoned after WW1, wrote a book called Mein Kampf.
Rise to Power
Elected Chancellor of Germany in 1933
“Restoring Germany’s Glory”
Hitler promised to restore Germany to it’s former glory.
He tried to exterminate all Jews, gypsies, blacks, and homosexuals because they weren’t a part of his perfect Aryan race.
He built new roads, buildings, and prison camps.
He made new jobs and stimulated the economy.
Effect on the World
Caused the Holocaust (genocide of millions of Jews) and WW2
