Special Guest Piper Alasdair Henderson Easter Saturday at 8pm Born in Dunoon, Argyll Alasdair now resides in Glasgow where he works as a piping instructor at George Heriot’s School in Edinburgh. He became Pipe Sergeant for Inveraray and District Pipe Band in 2014 that compete regularly in pipe band competi- tions throughout Europe recently achieving 1st place at the British Championships. In addition to holding the highest level of academic qualifications available for Scottish Bagpipe Music Alasdair has won a plethora of 1st Place awards as a solo piper from 2014 – 2016. Be sure to catch Alasdair’s recital Saturday evening at the Maclean Services Club. Admission Costs Friday April 14 th Saturday April 15 th 8.30am Pipebands on Parade The CBD centre of Maclean will come alive with pipe bands on parade. Don’t miss this spectacular event, full of colour and sound. 9.00am Showground Events The programme will open with a full day of action packed Scottish Culture. See the Highland dancers in action and watch the big men do battle in the Highland Sports. Capture the big sound of the pipe bands as they beat up a storm in 4 grades and witness the spectacular grand finale at the close of the day (massed band approx. 4pm). Lots of Scottish gift stalls, food stalls and a publican booth Afternoon Maclean Showground Listen to the stirring sounds of the pipes and drums in a variety of solo competitions. Evening Civic Hall and Council Foyer Hear top class ‘A’ pipers at their best. A piping evening of Piobaireachds, March Strathspey and Reels, Hornpipe and Jigs. 7.15pm Ceilidh in the Park Enjoy all the colour and excitement of a ‘Scottish Ceilidh’ in McLachlan Park. An evening of bands, entertainment and lots of dancing in the street. No seating available - please bring a rug or folding chair.
