    Bingo Winners

Barbie turned 60 years old in March. To celebrate, Jamie Miller had Keith bring in some of her Barbie Doll collection to be on display. Along with them, Char Fisher shared her Barbie Doll clothes that her mom crocheted for her. Liz brought in her daughter’s Barbie house and dolls. Kenleigh

Fooken allowed us to display her Barbie camper and Claire Routh’s Barbie horse. Liz read some informative material about Barbie’s history. Residents went around and looked at the display. Many changes have happened in 60 years.

  • STARTING THE LENTEN SEASON RESIDENTS BUSY DURING MARCH

Hopefully the cold weather is behind all of us by the time April rolls around. Residents are getting ready to spend time outside.

Residents played a game of grocery cart bingo. This game is a lot like jingo and bingo, but residents will talk about the items on the card and reminisce about when they went to the grocery store.

The big party to start the month off and to kick off the Lenten season was the annual Mardi Gras party. Liz served King Cake, Creole corn bread and muffuletta dip.

The Family Resource Center Lil’ Preschoolers were in to do a St. Patrick craft and play games with the residents.

A group of residents attend the MAC high school dress rehearsal for the play “Miss Teen Beauty Queen.” Several of the high schoolers who work at Clearview were in the play.

Barbie celebrated her 60th birthday in March. The residents enjoyed a Barbie Doll and accessory display.

Residents started a new community service project this month with cutting coupons for the troops overseas on military bases. This is called Trooponing. We will be doing this every month. If anyone has coupons to clip, drop them off. Coupons can be up to 2 months expired.

Twice, kids joined the residents playing bingo. Kids from the Maloy 4Hers and the FCC

youth group played a game and then visited with residents.

It was National Potato Chip Day in March. So, of course, we had a potato chip party. They enjoyed up to 10 different flavors of chips and dip. They also learned a lot about the potato chip and how it came about.

To have fun with St. Patrick’s Day, residents played a new game, St. Paddy’s Bingo. On St. Patrick’s Day, they enjoyed a happy hour with leprechaun food and beer.

Other games played during the month were kerplunk, match card, UNO, pitch and horse races.

Liz set up a movie theater in the dining room. The movie was projected on the wall, real big. The sound system was hooked up and residents gathered to watch “Facing the Giants.” They loved this movie and look forward to April’s movie.

The National Honor Society provided the fun and food for the March birthday party. These high schoolers are always enjoyed.

To recognized the beginning of the baseball season, residents played a game of baseball on the table top.
