Is that fair? How long do you keep non-traditional records? Certificate programs and stackable programs need to keep better records for the credit side. Badges for online non-credit. How can those be regulated? o Stems from the gaming world wanting instant gratification. Professional Development ideas for support staff: Bring in speakers Have training days Encourage staff to learn on topics like customer service, basic computer skills, collaboration, conflict resolution, leadership, inter-generational workplaces Fall kickoff events for Faculty & Staff: Keynotes, breakouts, before students come back to campus Have different tracks (program themes) for certain staff/faculty to follow Inter-generational staff challenges: Older staff follow rules and have a hard time breaking the routine to accommodate new changes Challenges with grad students and student workers Mentoring program with students allow them to be creative and flexible Collaborative ideas: Connect staff/faculty throughout the institution through holiday themed activities (ie: door decorating contests, trick or treat in offices, make caramel apples at lunch, potlucks)
