ABHSS, Khor has a vibrant and engaging community of learners with an active and supportive parent body and an enthusiastic and dedicated staff. The school is renowned in the community for providing optimal conditions for learning, a nurturing and welcoming culture, a high standard of academic achievements and commitment to the development of creativity through the arts and technologies. We understand that our school has a responsibility to the students in our care to provide an educational environment that supports their learning and all round development by providing quality educational opportunities in a caring and supportive environment. While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to provide leadership opportunities, character education and exposure to the technologies in order to prepare students to compete with their global counterparts. Our results and achievements are the fruits of hard work put in by our students and teachers and strong evidence of school’s academic strategy working in right direction. It gives me immense pleasure to share with you the achievements and activities of the school from April 2016 to September 2016. Academic Ascent : The school has bagged the Second Position in District Merit of both class 10 th and 12 th board examination. Academic Awards & Honours : Nine students scoring 85% & above in class 12 th board examination were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 25000/- each and a Certificate of Excellence by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at Bhopal. Toppers of class 10 th and 12 th were also honoured by the District Collector and the Education Department of Neemuch. Board Results : Our board result of class 10th and 12 th for the session 2015-16 was 100%. Sunita Dhangar (VCW) of class 12 th topped the Science faculty scoring 92.2% and bagged the Second position in District Merit. Surbhi Soni of class 10 th scoring 94.56% topped the school and bagged the Second Position in District Merit. Five students scoring 90% & above in class 10 th became distinctive at District, Zone and State level. Competitive Success : A student of class 12 th (VCW) is pursuing Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Branch from renowned Madhav Institute of Technology, Gwalior after achieving success in JEE. Another student of class 12 th (VCW) who has been National Level Athlete got admission in Rani Laxmi Bai College of Physical Education. Academics : New session began on 01 st April 2016. Our academic program continued with pre-determined targets- Result, Discipline and Spoken English Punctuality and Regularity. School reopens on 18 th June after summer vacation as per the academic calendar. Meetings of all the academic departments, presided over by the Principal, were held on the reopening day of the school. First term exams were held in the month of September result of which was declared on 24 th September 2016. Praveshotsava : A welcome celebration Praveshotsava was held on 5 th July 2016 for the tiny tots of Kindergarten as per the directives of State Government. The Principal and teachers welcomed the new students with sweets and gifts. Summer Classes : Summer classes for the students of class 10 th and 12 th were held during summer vacation with an objective to cover minimum 15% of syllabus including those units which need more emphasis. Enrichment & Remedial Classes : Enrichment classes for the bright ones and remedial classes for slow learners of all the classes were started in the month of July. Investiture Ceremony : Investiture Ceremony was held in the month of July. New Student Council was constituted for the session 2016-17. The badges and sashes were awarded to the school appointees by Sh. Ashok Khuntwal, Chairman of the school and Executive President of VCW, Smt. Rama Khuntwal, President Rajshree Mahila Mandal and Sh. Ranjeet Singhvi, Secretary of the school and Joint Executive President of VCW. The swearing-in ceremony was held by the Principal of the school. She, in her speech, inspired and motivated the school appointees to develop the leadership qualities and lead the group by personal example. Tree Plantation : Tree Plantation drive was held in school on 26 th July 2016. Sh. Ashok Khuntwal, Sh. Ranjeet Singhvi, Principal, staff and students planted the saplings in the school premises. School Safety : The school is committed to and putting all possible efforts for the safety of the students. A comprehensive School Safety Action Plan is designed and implemented with wide range of safety programs consisting the following efforts- Safety Instructions, Safety Quiz, Safety Talks are held regularly by the Principal in assembly and by the class teachers in the classes. Emergency Exit Points of the school are displayed, Safety Bulletin Boards are placed in school for communicating safety matters. Training on Fire Extinguisher Handling Training of Self Defence Karate Workshop on First Aid Workshop on Defensive Driving & Road Safety Awareness Workshop on Handling LPG at Home Parent-Teacher Meet : First meeting of Parent-Teacher Association of the school was held on 29 th August 2016 in school. A detailed interactive session was held for the all round development of students and growth of the institution. Parents appreciated the changes and development taken place in the school during previous years. Meeting with the Parents of students of Board Classes : A meeting with the parents of students of board classes was held on 30 th August 2016. The meeting aimed at the improvement of quality of board result. The detailed strategic discussion including Time Management was held to improve the quality of board result. Science : Our students performed well in the field of science and other competitions and brought laurels to the school- Three students secured First position in Tourism Quiz Competition after competing 116 schools of District Neemuch. The winners were awarded by the District Collector with a Tourism Voucher to visit a tourist place of Madhya Pradesh for 3 days and 2 nights. The quiz was organised by MP Tourism & Development Corporation in association with School Education Department on 23 rd July 2016 at Neemuch. Two students of class 12 th were awarded with a Cash Prize of Rs. 2500/- each, mementoes and Certificates for presenting their Science model in National Sci-Tech Pro Café - A Mind Challenging Science Project Olympiad, organised by Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur. Two students from middle section won the First prize in quiz competition Bharat Ko Jano held at Neemuch on 18 th September 2016. Two students from middle section and two from senior section got the First Position in Essay Writing Competition organised as per the directives received from the office of the District Education Officer Neemuch. Three students participated in different categories of competition in Mogli Bal Mahoatsava organised by M.P. State Government to promote environmental awareness. Health & Hygiene: In order to make the body and mind fit, our Health Club is performing a great role. Besides, following initiatives were taken for

the up keep of health and hygiene of the students-

� A workshop on Adolescence Health was organised by the Gynaecologist of Vikram Hospital for the girls aged 14 to 18.

� A comprehensive health check-up of all the students of the school was done by the team of the doctors of Vikram Hospital in the month of

September. Students found with diseases were conveyed to their parents and guided for further treatment.

Training & Development: Various workshops and academic training programs were organised for the students-

� A comprehensive fortnight workshop on Calligraphy & Origami was organized for the students of Primary Section from 16th to 30th March 2016.

� A training on self defence Karate was organised during the end session break. The training also included some defensive tips against Eve Teasing.

� An educational visit to the Bank and Post Office situated in the unit township was organised on 28th June 2016 for the students of classes 9th to 12th.

Students were given opportunity to see, observe and understand the procedure of various services of bank and post office.

� An awareness and training session on Physiotherapy was organized for the sports players and teachers on 30th July 2016 in the school. The session

was organized by HR Department of Vikram Cement Works with resource person Dr. Mansi Doshi from Mumbai.

Seminars & Workshop: Various useful workshops were organised by the Principal as the resource person for the teachers of the school-

� Workshops on Classroom Management & Effective Teaching, Computer Applications, and Personality Development.

� An exclusive weeklong workshop on Primary Teaching for the teachers of Primary section.

Counselling & Guidance: Various Career Counselling Sessions were organised for the students by the external agencies and the internal career

counselling cell of the school. A three day Counselling & Guidance Session was organised in the month of June 2016 for the pass out batch of class

10th and 12th. Students of class 10th were counselled to choose available streams as per their interest and academic capabilities. Students and toppers of

class 12th were guided to opt for the new emerging branches of career.

Co-curricular Activities: Various activities and inter-house competitions were held in the school-

� One Minute show, Puzzle activity and Colour the Picture competition and English Poem Recitation competition for class UKG.

� Drawing, Puzzle, Bookmark Making activity and Action Song and Poem Recitation competition for Group A.

� Photo Frame making, Best out of Waste, Hand writing activity, Collage making competition with seeds and grains, English Story Telling and Group

Dance competition for Group B.

� Hand Writing Competition, Spell Bee and Hindi Debate on Internet is Useful for the Students for Group C.

� English Debate on Rote Learning and Solo Dance Competition for Group D.

� Screening of movie On a Quest was held in the school for the students of classes 9th to 12th.

Sports & Games: Inter-house competitions were organised in different games and sports events-

� Carom and Cricket for Group B.

� Carom, Football for Group C.

� Table Tennis (Boys) and Table Tennis (Girls) for group D.

Club Report: All the14 Activity Clubs of the school remain active with innovative and creative activities which are entertaining and educative as well.

Library: School library is enriched with the subscription of some new English magazines, newspapers, books of competitive exams and other useful

study material. Current information of the new arrivals and the world around is displayed on soft boards in the library.

Functions &Celebrations: All important days were celebrated in the school.

� The 70th Independence Day was celebrated jointly by VCW, ABPS and ABHSS with patriotic fervour. Sh. Ashok Khuntwal, Executive President

of VCW hoisted the national flag and graced the function as the Chief Guest. Children of ABHSS presented a mesmerizing cultural program.

Achievers in the fields of punctuality, academic excellence, board toppers, 90% & above aggregate in board results were felicitated.

� Janmashtami was celebrated in the school. Students presented some beautiful dances.

� Teacher’s Day was celebrated jointly by ABHSS and ABPS in presence of Chairman, Secretary and members of managing committee of schools.

� Hindi Divas was celebrated in the school. Relevance and importance of Hindi language was discussed by the Principal in the assembly.

Prizes & Awards: Winners and achievers in different fields were felicitated with trophies and certificates on Independence Day by the Chief Guest.

� Class toppers of the academic year 2015-16.

� 100% attendance holders.

� Merit holders of class 10th and 12th board exam

� Toppers of class 10th and 12th board exam.

� State Achievers scoring 85% & above in class 12th board exam.

� Winners of State Level Tourism Quiz competition.

� Chemistry teacher Mr. M. S. Chauhan for achieving the highest subject average in Chemistry in class 12th board exam.

Social Commitments: The school remained committed to its social and environmental accountabilities. Students participated actively in-

� Poster Competition organised by VCW on 18th April 2016 during Environment Awareness Week.

� Quiz Competition organised by VCW on 21st April 2016 on account of Earth Day.

� Tree Plantation Drive organised in the school on 5th June 2016 on account of Environment Day.

� World Yoga Day held in the school on 21st June 2016. Importance of Yoga was explained by the Principal. A practical session of Yoga was

practised by students, teachers and Principal of the school.

Valediction: The school bade a farewell to its teacher Mrs. Sarita Gangwar who has been transferred to ABIC Renukoot. The Principal and staff

wished her good luck for her future endeavours.

Obituary: The school pays tribute to Manoj Kumar, student of class X, on his sudden death due to severe heart disease. We pray to the almighty may

his soul rest in peace.
