Remember, when you think

about alcohol and drugs, there are

many different types of drugs

such as cannabis, heroin, amphetamines (speed, ice), medications from the doctor or chemist, khat, tobacco, and others

that can cause problems.

Here are some questions to help you decide.

• Doyouevertakealcoholordrugsfirstthinginthe

morning?

• Doyouevertakealcoholordrugstogetyou

throughtheday?

• Haveyouorsomeoneelsebeenhurtbecauseof

alcoholordrugs?

• Doyouhidealcoholordrugsfromfamilyorfriends,

becauseyouareembarrassed,ashamedorscared?

• Doesalcoholordrugtakingaffectotherpartsof

yourlife,forexample,familyrelationships,work,

friendships,financesorhealth?

• Haveyoueverrunoutofmoneyforthingsyou

need,likefoodorpayingyourbills,becauseyou

usedthemoneyforalcoholordrugs?

• Haveyouhadlegalproblemsorbeenintrouble

withthepolicebecauseofalcoholordrugs,for

exampledrink-driving,disorderlyconductor

drugcharges?

This is a free and confidential service

that is available 24 hours a day,

7 days a week. No one needs to

know that you have called to

ask for advice, assistance or

support. Your information will not be given to anyone else including the police.
