WHAT IS RFID?RFID, (Radio frequency identification) is a generic term for technologies that utilize radio waves to automatically identify people or

objects. Although there are several methods of identification, the most common is to store a serial number that identifies a person

or object on a microchip that is connected to an antenna (the chip and the antenna together are referred to as an RFID tag).

HOW DOES RFID WORK?RFID utilizes the RFID tag. (The chip and the antenna together) The antenna enables the chip to transmit the identification

information to a reader. The reader then converts the radio waves reflected back from the RFID tag into digital information that

can then be passed on to computers that we can then make use of.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A “WET” AND “DRY” TAG?Wet tag- Inlays that have an adhesive backing with a clear or colored top surface of PVC, PET or paper. The PVC or PET wet inlays

are commonly used to make “RFID Labels” where the inlay is placed on the back of the label with the adhesive side away from the

label side so that the label has continuous adhesive.

Dry tag- Inlays that are attached to the substrate backing material commonly called the web.

WHAT IS THE READ RANGE FOR RFID?Low-frequency tags are read from a foot or less.

High-frequency tags are read from about three feet.

UHF tags are read from 10 to 20 feet.

VARIABLE DATA PRINTINGWe offer data matrix 2D bar codes in both square and rectangle sizes, relative to the amount of

data encoded. Error correction codes are encoded into the data Matrix 2D bar code to ensure

that even partially damaged codes can still be scanned and read. Data Matrix 2D codes can store

up to 2335 alphanumeric characters.

*Bar codes can only be printed in black ink and featured on a white background.

*Due to size constraints, bar codes can only be printed on 1” and Wide Face wristbands.
