Summer Newsleer Adelaide Primary School Dear Parent/Carer, I hope you all had an enjoyable half term break and the children are well rested and ready for the final Summer Term of the year. We have some excing events to look forward to such as Sports Days, Year 1 trips to the Humber Bridge Country Park, Year 2 trips to Hornsea, Year 3 trips to Magna, Year 4 trips to Eden Camp, Year 2 performance at Hull City Hall, Year 3 swimming lessons, Year 4 Glockenspiel Concert at the Hull City Hall, Year 6 performance to parents, Year 6 transion events to high schools and end of year reports for parents. We are hopeful for some sunshine to see us through! Our Year 6 and Year 2 classes worked extremely hard on their SATs last half term. We were extremely proud of their exemplary atude and amazing effort towards these tests. Every single one of them certainly gave it their best shot and deserve our recognion. Year 1 children will take their Phonics Screening Check during the week of 10th to 14th June. Our Foundaon Stage Two classes enjoyed visits to East Park last half term and Miss Harrisons Year 4 class enjoyed a visit to the cinema to watch Dumbo, thanks to Shad who won a compeon to design a poster to promote reading. The children in Year 6 and some of the Year 5 children enjoyed a fantasc weekend away at the Robinwood Residenal where they had the chance to take part in excing acvies such as abseiling, canoeing and archery. Their behaviour was outstanding and highly commended by the staff at Robinwood. Mrs. Brady has leſt us to work at Beverley College, but we are delighted that Mrs Horsfield will be taking up the post of Emoonal Wellbeing, Behaviour and Aendance Officer. She will work closely with Mrs. Cooke and would love you to come and say hello! We are also pleased to welcome back Mrs. Walker, Miss Barker and Miss Sharpe from maternity leave. Mrs Zacarias is taking an excing step to become a secondary school Spanish teacher and has leſt us to begin her training. Yours sincerely Mrs Dodson 3rd June 2019 What should I do if my child is ill?
