ARTS SOUTH AUSTRALIA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PETER LOUCA

It’s Fringe time again – that whirling, colourful time of year when performers, artists, creatives and people of all types from all over the globe descend upon our city for four weeks of fun and frivolity.

This puts Adelaide arts on the international map and generates enormous interest and real activity in our economy.

And while we love this annual opportunity for the world to come to Adelaide, even better are opportunities for Adelaide to go to the world: which is where Arts South Australia’s Made in Adelaide program comes in.

Now in its third year, this award-winning export platform exposes South Australian creative talent to international markets, showcasing our acts on the world stage in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, and highlighting South Australian performing arts under the unique and highly recognisable Made in Adelaide brand.

But our Made in Adelaide acts aren’t just for international audiences to enjoy: we think they should get some local love, too!

That’s why we’ve made this handy guide, highlighting shows and artists that have performed overseas under the Made in Adelaide banner, or have been produced by someone supported by the Made in Adelaide initiative, so you can seek out the best South Australian talent at this year’s Fringe.

Happy Fringing!

ABOUT MADE IN ADELAIDE

Made in Adelaide is an initiative of Arts South Australia that provides a recognisable brand for South Australian cultural exports overseas.

Since 2016 scores of South Australian artists, creatives and producers have travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe and London as part of the annual Made in Adelaide delegation, showcasing their work to thousands at the heart of the international festivals circuit.

In January Made in Adelaide was also represented at the International Performing Arts for Youth showcase in Philadelphia, USA.

The program has led to increased international touring and development opportunities for South Australian artists, increased interest in South Australian arts and cultural product, festivals, food and wine, and strengthened our state’s international reputation for performing arts.
