  • HANDs! Project 2014-2020 Hope and Dreams (HANDs!) Project is an annual youth

    exchange program for 7 years aiming to foster capacity

    building among youth (18 to 35 years old) for learning and

    later creating actual projects using creative methods

    for supporting communities in making disaster

    education.

    Offices involved: JF Jakarta, Bangkok, Manila, Kuala

    Lumpur, New Delhi, Tokyo

    Target: Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, India,

    Japan (more to be added)

    Indonesia Youth Competition

    for Disaster Education

    (YCDE) in 2012 to 2013

    - 2012: 139 groups (536 participants) for 24 seats to Japan

    (Kizuna)

    - 2013: 319 groups (1276 participants) for 24 seats to

    Japan (JENESYS 2.0)

    - Received more than 3,800 likes on FB in a week!

  • About HANDs Expected Outcome from Year 1:

    Engages and develops a total of 24 motivated youths from Japan and ASEAN countries

    Engages a minimum of 10,000 people digitally

    Initiating a network of youths

    Creating and realizing new ideas or solutions =>> ACCOMPLISHED

    Expected Outcome after 7 Years:

    Engages and develops a minimum of 200 motivated youths from Japan and ASEAN countries

    Engages a minimum of 100,000 people digitally

    An active self-initiated network

    Able to involve the Local and National Government of participating countries

    Able to affect on national educational system in participating countries

    Developed 8 action plans to be implemented in 2015.

    Outreached to 6.3 million audience via ARENA123 on TVRI. (January and February, 2015) [Indonesia]

    Outreached audience through Thai PBS TV [Thailand]

    Outreached audience through TBS TV Jonetsu Tairiku and magazine Axis through Nagata san [Japan].

    Evacuation and Three activities at EPA language training center at Depok.

    Target: 267 nurse and caregivers

    Objective:

    To introduce ways to take care of people in case of emergency.

    To do human capacity development in the area of disaster education + creativity.

    To provide opportunities for participants to have creative

    mindset, so that they can continuously change the community.

    To create the pool of active alumni who continuously

    communicate and create activities.
