Dear Parents & Guardians: As we begin preparation for this year’s summer school program, it is necessary that we inform you of two temporary, but significant changes. Due to the capital construction/building project at the High School and the ongoing roof renovations to Tuscarora, this year’s Pre-K thru Grade 4 (and a combined 5/6 classroom) summer school will be held at the Valley Elementary School. Also, because of the limited amount of classrooms available, the number of students eligible to attend the program is limited. Letters of invite will be sent to the parents of students in academic need of attending the summer school program.

Contact Donna Taylor @ 359-2090 with any Addison school district summer school questions.

As an alternative to our traditional summer school program, students may attend the summer youth experience at the Addison Youth Center. This enjoy-able and educational program is designed for grades 4- 6. If you have any questions regarding the Youth Center program/curriculum, please contact Dawn at 359-2116.

Your patience is greatly appreciated as we continue to work on giving our students a first class, twenty first century education.

Below please find additional information about the Addison Youth Center Program

The Addison Youth Center will be sponsoring a Summer Program which is tentatively scheduled to run from July 6th until August 13th. The program will be held from 8:00am until 12:30pm Monday through Thursday.

The weekly themes currently being planned: Science/Technology (week of July 6), Golf/First Tee weeks (week of July 13 and July 27), Water week (week of July 20), and Field Trip weeks (week of August 3 and August 10). The AYC Summer Program is open to Addison Central School District students cur-rently enrolled in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade. Each weekly program will be limited to 40 students. The First Tee program, which will run concurrently with Golf week, will be limited to 20 students and will require a separate registration. The ACSD will provide transportation for the AYC summer program. Each stu-dent must enroll in each weekly program prior to the start of the program. Summer program weekly sign-ups will be accepted until June 26, 2009. Weekly program registration can be done online at addisonyouthcenter.blogspot.com or forms can be picked up at the AYC.

If you have questions you can call the AYC at 359-2116 or stop by the center at 21 Community Dr., Addison NY.

Addison Vocal Music Pops Concert

Addison Middle-Senior High School Vocal Music Department will present a Pops Concert on Friday, June 5th at 7:30pm in the High School’s Auditorium for the Performing Arts. The Concert will feature the combined talents of Senior High Voice Class One and Middle School Voice Class Select. Concert tickets can be reserved by calling the High School Library at 359-2241 from 8am-3:30pm Monday through Friday.

Memorial Day - Addison School will be closed on

Friday, May 22nd and Monday, May 25th. We wish

everyone a safe and wonderful weekend. See you back

in school on Tuesday the 26th.

Thank you to everyone who took time to participate in the annual school vote on May 19th.
