• C-05.1 Playground Enlargement– Enlargement showing the revised sizes and relocation of the three storm inlets. These inlets were relocated to avoid the playground equipment fall zones. Added 15” HDPE note to pipe.

• C-06 Storm & Sanitary Sewer Profiles – Pipe profile under playground updated. Detail added to show the new drainage condition of the storm inlets in the playground area. New detail shows the storm inlet with 6” concrete collar on all sides flush with the adjacent playground surface.

• C-11 Paving Plan (Alternate 3) – Updated the graphic scale • L-2.02 Layout Plan (Base Bid) – Updated the written scale • Specification Section 06 2000 – Finish Carpentry – Updated Part 2.03 Lumber

Materials. Wood color/finish has been updated to Epic Cognac.

STATEMENTS:

1. ***THE BID DEADLINE HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO 2:50 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON APRIL 29, 2020***

The bid due date on April 24, 2020 has been rescheduled. Bids will now be received until 2:50 P.M. local time on April 29, 2020 at the Gwinnett County Purchasing Division, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. Any bid received after this date and time will not be accepted.

2. All addenda should be acknowledged in the line provided on the Bid Schedule. Failure to do so may result in your bid being deemed non-responsive.

Questions/Answers:

1. Question: On sheet G-0.01 it calls out for root pruning under drip lines of trees. Could we do root bridging instead to avoid root or tree damage? If so, what would the detail be for the root bridging? Answer: The work will be completed in accordance with the plans.

2. Question: Sheet C-05.1 calls storm from GI A2-JB A3 as 18” hdpe. Profiles for this run on sheet c-06 call this run to be 15” hdpe, which should it be? Answer: 15” HDPE, plans have been corrected on C-05 and C-05.1

3. Question: Will the project require a state licensed general contractor? Answer: Yes

4. Question: Is it possible to extend the bid date? Answer: Yes, the bid date has been extended to 2:50 P.M. local time on April 29, 2020.

5. Question: On page C-05.1 it states both 15” & 18” HDPE, wanting clarification on which size is needed. Answer: 15” HDPE, plans have been corrected on C-05 and C-05.1

6. Question: Scale issue on paving plan C-11. States 1’’= 30’, I believe it should be 1” = 20’. Please check all other pages to clarify scale is correct.

Answer: Scale has been corrected and now shows 20 scale.

7. Question: Found another scaling issue on page L-2.02. States 1” = 30’ but I feel it should be 1” = 10’.

Answer: The scale bar is correct, but the worded scale has been corrected and now reads 10 scale.

8. Question: Specify if owner is supplying power to new building. Answer: No

9. Question: The drainage profile underneath the playground is missing will it be added? Answer: Yes, added to C-06

10. Question: There are no profiles for any of the walls (concrete seat walls and timber trail

walls) will those be included? Answer: No

11. Question: Are we to add irrigation or is landscaping getting hand watered? Answer: There are no plans for permanent irrigation on this project. See Section 32

15. Question: Confirm Sheet S-5.1 (Boardwalk Details – Alt. 2) note #5 specifies Dasso 2x6

(G0) Epic Cognac color, product #EPC-DK20-G1-PP. Please note that this product number is for 1x6 material. Answer: Product should be 2x6. Product #EPC-DK40-G0-PP

16. Question: Specification Manual Section 06-1000 Rough Carpentry, Part 2.06 Fasteners, C. Bamboo Deck Boards specifies starter and ending boards to be installed with countersunk fasteners using the (or equal) and intermediate boards with Tigerclaw TC-120 (or equal) concealed fasteners. Answer: 1x6 decking: Starter and ending boards to be installed with countersunk fasteners and plugs per manufacturer’s instructions. All intermediate boards to be installed with Tigerclaw TC-120 (or approved equal) concealed fasteners. 2x6 decking: All boards to be installed with countersunk fasteners and plugs per manufactuer’s instructions and concealed to the greatest extent possible.

17. Question: Please confirm color/finish. Specification Manual Section 06-2000 Finish Carpentry, Part 2.03 Lumber Materials, B. Bridge and Boardwalk Decking specifies DassoXTR, Classic Espresso, sized as shown on plans, two sides T&G. Answer: Product should Epic Cognac color/finish.

18. Question: For the stream crossing bridge and associated boardwalk (Alternate 4)

please clarify the following: • Decking material dimension (1x6 or 2x6)? • Decking material color (epic cognac or classic espresso)? • Decking material fasteners (if 2x6 material is selected, face install fasteners per

manufacturers recommendation or field modify boards to accept concealed fasteners? For face installed fasteners, countersink only or countersink and

2.05 WOOD TREATMENTA. Factory-Treated Lumber: Comply with requirements of AWPA U1 - Use Category

System for pressure impregnated wood treatments determined by use categories,expected service conditions, and specific applications.

B. Wood Preservative by Pressure Treatment (PT Type): Provide AWPA U1 treatmentusing waterborne preservative with 0.25 percent retainage.

C. Redry wood after pressure treatment to maximum 6 percent moisture content.

2.06 SITE FINISHING MATERIALSA. Finish all exterior wood with clear waterbourn finish In compliance with

2.07 FABRICATION

A. Verify adequacy of backing and support framing.3.02 INSTALLATION

A. Install custom fabrications in accordance with AWI/AWMAC/WI (AWS) or AWMAC/WI(NAAWS) requirements for grade indicated.

B. Set and secure materials and components in place, plumb and level.

C. Remove all ink stamps and markings from visible exterior surfaces of pressuretreated wood allowing time for wood to fade to a uniform color before applying finish.

D. Carefully scribe work abutting other components, with maximum gaps of 1/32 inch. Do not use additional overlay trim to conceal larger gaps.

E. Install all wood decking reeded side up.

3.03 SITE APPLIED WOOD TREATMENTA. Apply preservative treatment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Brush apply one coats of preservative treatment on wood in contact withcementitious materials. Treat site-sawn cuts.

C. Allow preservative to dry prior to erecting members.
