1. Question: On sheet G-0.01 it calls out for root pruning under drip lines of trees. Could we do root bridging instead to avoid root or tree damage? If so, what would the detail be for the root bridging? Answer: The work will be completed in accordance with the plans.

2. Question: Sheet C-05.1 calls storm from GI A2-JB A3 as 18” hdpe. Profiles for this run on sheet c-06 call this run to be 15” hdpe, which should it be? Answer: 15” HDPE, plans have been corrected on C-05 and C-05.1

3. Question: Will the project require a state licensed general contractor? Answer: Yes

4. Question: Is it possible to extend the bid date? Answer: Yes, the bid date has been extended to 2:50 P.M. local time on April 29, 2020.

5. Question: On page C-05.1 it states both 15” & 18” HDPE, wanting clarification on which size is needed. Answer: 15” HDPE, plans have been corrected on C-05 and C-05.1

6. Question: Scale issue on paving plan C-11. States 1’’= 30’, I believe it should be 1” = 20’. Please check all other pages to clarify scale is correct.

Answer: Scale has been corrected and now shows 20 scale.

7. Question: Found another scaling issue on page L-2.02. States 1” = 30’ but I feel it should be 1” = 10’.

Answer: The scale bar is correct, but the worded scale has been corrected and now reads 10 scale.

8. Question: Specify if owner is supplying power to new building. Answer: No

9. Question: The drainage profile underneath the playground is missing will it be added? Answer: Yes, added to C-06

10. Question: There are no profiles for any of the walls (concrete seat walls and timber trail

walls) will those be included? Answer: No

11. Question: Are we to add irrigation or is landscaping getting hand watered? Answer: There are no plans for permanent irrigation on this project. See Section 32

Answer: 1x6 decking: Starter and ending boards to be installed with countersunk fasteners and plugs per manufacturer’s instructions. 2.02 WOOD-BASED COMPONENTS

A. Wood fabricated from old growth timber is not permitted.B. Provide sustainably harvested wood, certified or labeled as specified in Section 01

6000 - Product Requirements.

C. Provide wood harvested within a 500 mile radius of the project site.2.03 LUMBER MATERIALS

A. Exterior Softwood Lumber: pressure treated southern yellow pine species, four sidessawn, maximum moisture content of 6 percent; No. 2 prime grade or better, KDAT,meeting ASTM D25..1. Preservative Chemicals: Acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction and

containing no arsenic or chromium. For any wood surfaces where there is anexpectation of any human contact, no CCA (chromated copper arsenate) shall beused. This includes all decking, railing elements and swing arbors. Thecontractor must submit the intended preservative chemicals for wood subject tohuman contact for confirmation that they can be used.

B. Bridge and Boardwalk Decking: Fused Bamboo Decking (DAssoXTR Fused ExteriorBamboo Decking or approved equal). Color: Classic Espresso Epic Cognac orapproved equal. Sized as shown on plans. 2.04 FASTENINGSA. All fasteners and hardware to be hot-dipped galvanized steel, all screws to be

2.05 WOOD TREATMENTA. Factory-Treated Lumber: Comply with requirements of AWPA U1 - Use Category

System for pressure impregnated wood treatments determined by use categories,expected service conditions, and specific applications.

B. Wood Preservative by Pressure Treatment (PT Type): Provide AWPA U1 treatmentusing waterborne preservative with 0.25 percent retainage.

C. Redry wood after pressure treatment to maximum 6 percent moisture content.

2.06 SITE FINISHING MATERIALSA. Finish all exterior wood with clear waterbourn finish In compliance with

AWI/AWMAC/WI (AWS) or AWMAC/WI (NAAWS), unless noted otherwise on thedrawings or in the manufacturers instructions.

2.07 FABRICATION

A. Shop assemble work for delivery to site, permitting passage through buildingopenings.

B. When necessary to cut and fit on site, provide materials with ample allowance forcutting. Provide trim for scribing and site cutting.

2.08 SHOP FINISHING

A. Finish work in accordance with AWI/AWMAC/WI (AWS) or AWMAC/WI (NAAWS),Section 5 - Finishing for grade specified and as follows:1. Comply with Section 099300 FL- staining and transparent finishing.

PART 3 EXECUTION3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Verify adequacy of backing and support framing.3.02 INSTALLATION

A. Install custom fabrications in accordance with AWI/AWMAC/WI (AWS) or AWMAC/WI(NAAWS) requirements for grade indicated.

B. Set and secure materials and components in place, plumb and level.

C. Remove all ink stamps and markings from visible exterior surfaces of pressuretreated wood allowing time for wood to fade to a uniform color before applying finish.

D. Carefully scribe work abutting other components, with maximum gaps of 1/32 inch. Do not use additional overlay trim to conceal larger gaps.

E. Install all wood decking reeded side up.

3.03 SITE APPLIED WOOD TREATMENTA. Apply preservative treatment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Brush apply one coats of preservative treatment on wood in contact withcementitious materials. Treat site-sawn cuts.

C. Allow preservative to dry prior to erecting members.

work smooth and provide a surface ready to accept finish that is uniform in color.3.05 TOLERANCES
