B. Manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to, and not a limitation of, other rights the owner may have under the contract documents. C. Warranty: Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty covering roof panels, associated metal components, and accessories, covering weather tightness, finish, materials, labor, and workmanship.

1. Limit of Liability: No dollar limitation. 2. Scope of Coverage: Repair leaks in the roofing system caused by:

a. Ordinary wear and tear of the elements. b. Manufacturing defect in materials. c. Defective workmanship used to install these materials. d. Damage due to winds up to 55 mph.

D. Painted Finish Warranty: Provide Firestone standard Red Shield non-prorated warranty (or similar of other manufacturers) covering durability of painted finish, to include film integrity, color change, fading, and chalking, unless otherwise indicated below.

1. Warranty Period: 35 years commencing on date of substantial completion. 2. Firestone Standard Color “Regal Red” (or similar of other manufacturers): Warranted

against color change or fading for a maximum period of ten (10) years.” 5. SECTION 07 41 13 METAL ROOF PANELS, Subparagraph 2.4 FINISHES – Replace with the

following: “A. Fluoropolymer Coating: 70 percent full strength Kynar 500/Hylar 5000.

1. Exposed Surface: 1.0 mil (0.25 mm) plus/minus 0.1 mil (0.025 mm) total dry film thickness.

2. Concealed Surface: 0.2 to 0.3 mils (0.05 to 0.08 mm) total dry film thickness. 3. Color: To be selected from manufacturer’s standard and premium colors, to match

existing. 4. Provide factory applied strippable plastic film for protection during fabrication and

SECTION 01 21 00 ALLOWANCES

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Section includes administrative and procedural requirements governing allowances.

1.2 SELECTION AND PURCHASE

A. At Architect's request, obtain proposals for each allowance for use in making final selections. Include recommendations that are relevant to performing the Work.

B. Purchase products and systems selected by Architect from the designated supplier.

1.3 ACTION SUBMITTALS

A. Submit proposals for purchase of products or systems included in allowances, in the form of Change Orders.

1.4 LUMP-SUM ALLOWANCES

A. Allowance shall include cost to Contractor of specific products and materials ordered by Owner or selected by Architect under allowance and shall include taxes, freight and delivery to Project site. Contractor's costs for receiving and handling at Project site, labor, installation, overhead and profit, and similar costs related to products and materials under allowance shall be included as part of the Contract Sum and not part of the allowance.

1.5 ADJUSTMENT OF ALLOWANCES

A. Allowance Adjustment: To adjust allowance amounts, prepare a Change Order proposal based on the difference between purchase amount and the allowance.

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Examine products covered by an allowance promptly on delivery for damage or defects. Return damaged or defective products to manufacturer for replacement.

3.2 SCHEDULE OF ALLOWANCES

A. Allowance No. 1: Lump-Sum Allowance: Include the sum of $3000.00: Include in the Base Bid for providing door and room signs. The Architect will lay out a signage system sometime after bids are awarded, the cost for same will be deducted from this allowance. Any monies not used shall be reimbursed back to Owner.

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. This Section includes interior woodwork including for the following applications: 1. Plastic-laminate cabinets with locking hardware. 2. Plastic-laminate countertops.

B. Interior architectural woodwork includes wood furring, blocking, shims, and hanging strips, unless concealed within other construction before woodwork installation.

1.2 SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data: Cabinet hardware and accessories.

B. Shop Drawings: Include location of each item, plans and elevations, and other components.

C. Samples: Plastic-laminate-clad panel products, for each type, color, pattern, and surface finish.

1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Installer Qualifications: Fabricator of woodwork.

B. Quality Standard: PREMIUM to comply with AWI's "Architectural Woodwork Quality Standards" for grades of interior architectural woodwork, construction, finishes, and other requirements. 1. Provide AWI certification labels or compliance certificate indicating that woodwork complies with

requirements of grades specified.

1.4 PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Environmental Limitations: Do not deliver or install woodwork until building is enclosed, wet work is complete, and HVAC system is operating and maintaining temperature and relative humidity.

2.2 CABINET HARDWARE AND ACCESSORIES

A. General: Provide cabinet hardware and accessory materials for a complete installation of architectural woodwork, except for items specified in Division 8 Section "Door Hardware."

B. Hardware Standard: Comply with BHMA A156.9 for items indicated by referencing BHMA numbers

C. Commercial Heavy-Duty Hinges: Full overlay, five knuckle hinge with 270 degree opening. Hinge is used with a magnetic catch to secure closure of door. Satin Bronze finish.

D. Locks: All drawers and doors shall receive locking mechanism. Lock shall be surface mount brass thru-key #14879 by Rockler or equal, all keyed alike. Bi-swing cabinet doors may be interlocked.

E. Wire Pulls: 4”, Satin Bronze finish (match existing)

F. Catches (where used): Magnetic, BHMA A156.9, B03141.

G. Adjustable Shelves: Shelf clips at 1” o.c. typical, except Archives Room 151 shall be recessed metal standards with metal clip system, in Satin Bronze or compatible finish.

H. Drawer Slides: Concealed self-closing with dampening system (self-regulating the closing speed) full extension runner, panel overlay, and rated for the following loads: 1. Drawer Slides: 150 lbf (670 N). 2. Pencil Drawer Slides: 45 lbf (200 N).

I. Exposed Hardware Finishes: Satin Bronze to match existing.

2.3 INSTALLATION MATERIALS

A. Furring, Blocking, Shims, and Hanging Strips: Softwood or hardwood lumber, kiln-dried to less than 15 percent moisture content.

2.4 FABRICATION

A. General: Complete fabrication to maximum extent possible before shipment to Project site. Where necessary for fitting at site, provide allowance for scribing, trimming, and fitting. 1. Interior Woodwork Grade: Premium complying with the referenced quality standard. 2. Shop cut openings to maximum extent possible. Sand edges of cutouts to remove splinters and burrs. 3. Seal edges of openings in countertops with a coat of varnish. 4. Install glass to comply with applicable requirements in Division 8 Section "Glazing" and in GANA's

"Glazing Manual." For glass in wood frames, secure glass with removable stops. 5. For trim items wider than available lumber, use veneered construction. Do not glue for width. 6. Backout or groove backs of flat trim members and kerf backs of other wide, flat members, except for

members with ends exposed in finished work. 7. Assemble casings in plant except where limitations of access to place of installation require field

assembly.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION

A. Condition woodwork to average prevailing humidity conditions in installation areas and examine and complete work as required, including removal of packing and backpriming before installation.

B. Quality Standard: Install woodwork to comply with AWI Section 1700 for the same grade specified in this Section for type of woodwork involved.

C. Install woodwork level, plumb, true, and straight to a tolerance of 1/8 inch in 96 inches (3 mm in 2400 mm). Shim as required with concealed shims.

D. Scribe and cut woodwork to fit adjoining work, and refinish cut surfaces and repair damaged finish at cuts.

E. Anchor woodwork to anchors or blocking built in or directly attached to substrates. Secure with countersunk, concealed fasteners and blind nailing as required for complete installation.

F. Cabinets: Install without distortion so doors and drawers fit openings properly and are accurately aligned.

G. Countertops: Anchor securely by screwing through corner blocks of base cabinets or other supports into underside of countertop. Calk space between backsplash and wall with sealant specified in Division 7 Section "Joint Sealants."
