But the little gingerbread man runs on.

Now, the little gingerbread man, meets a horse.

This little man looks good to eat, thinks the horse.

Stop, stop, little man, says the horse.

But the little man runs on.No one can catch me, he says.

So the horse and the cow and the little old woman and the little old man chase the gingerbread man.

The little man says,

Run, run as fast as you can.

Now a hungry fox sees the gingerbread man.

He looks good to eat, thinks the fox.

I will make friends with him and try to eat him up.

I can’t swim says the gingerbread man.

The fox jumps into the water and starts to swim to the other side of the river.
