Record copied a per ¬ sonal mention of Miss Margaret Taylor which appeared in the News last week andadds The Adair County News says many nice things of Miss Taylor which we heartily endorse and congratulate that Institution on securing her as she is a most estimatable Christian lady be ¬ ing one of our leading workers in the Presbyterian Church of this City and prominent in the Y W C A and Sun ¬ ¬ w1C and was atone time Secretary of this District Sunday School Association The college could not have secured a more popular teacher as she wins the love and respect of all her pupils hav ¬ ing had much experience in this and other cities where she has given the best of satisfaction Asa teacher she has had unusual training both in a scientfic and musical course She spent much time in Cincinnatigiving much attention to elocution and before being a pupil in the Conservatory of music at Cincinnati she was under a pu ¬ pil of Karl Mertz so Miss Taylor will be a great additioa to their College and City We regret to have her leave the city of her birth where only good wish ¬ es and expressions of esteem and admir ¬ ation are heard for Miss Margaret and hope her life may be pleasant it would be of interest to some of the readers of the News to hear from this part of Texas Coleman county i sa ° beautiful country well timbered and water ¬ edwell timbered here means plenty of fire wood and post tim bergNot much timber is used in this country houses are small andnothing is used in fencing but barbed wire and a small mes quite post This county is a very fine farm- ing ¬ country you canraise almost anything that grows We have had plenty of rain this season crops are out of sight Corn will make 10 barrel per acre wheat from 20 to 40 bushels oats from 50 to 100 and advanced cotton one half to a bale per acre We cant tell yet what the whole crop f i r l > 1 l < J 7 i A t will make as some is just coming up Does it pay a man to farm in this country One man can cultivate sixty acres of cotton to make one half bale per acre he would have thirty bales at fifty dollars making 1500 clear I as the seed pay for picking gin ¬ withb tobacco There is a large crop this year The
