Spiritual Awakening in Central AsiaPath of Self-discovery

History~ 7000 years ago the Indians, Iranians and Greeks formed the Aryan nationlived in the plains of central Asiaused languages which were a mixture of Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, Persian and German. Aryan civilization and culture spread to India, China, Tibet and Persia. It is said that the 10,000 verses of Vedas were brought by Aryans to Indiathey became the foundation of Indian philosophy and culture.

Spread of Indus Valley CivilizationFor unknown reasons - either sudden climatic changes or pressure from local tribes - they migrated to the north, east and west.Wherever they went they carried their own traditions and culturealso adapted with the local customs and cultures which gave birth to a new civilizationThey spread to the Indian continent and Iran in the East, Europe, Armenia and Turkey in the West and some to Siberia in the North.

Indian Archaeological SurveyThere was no Aryan invasion in IndiaThere were two different types of people with opposite instincts, who were decedents of two sisters:one group was more civilized, caring, loving, sharing, agricultural, and live and let live philosophycultivated wheat, rice, barley, and other agriculture products in Indus Valley and Indo-Gagenetic plains (Trivani)the other group was more self centered, cruel, greedy, revenging, animal hunting, destructive, and hawkish in nature forced to migrate from Indian continent

As per recent Indian Archaeological survey there was no Aryan invasion in India but this invasion theory was put forward by British historians. As per another theory there were two different type of people with opposite instincts, who were decedents of two sisters, one with more civilized, caring, loving, sharing, agricultural, and live and let live philosophy. They developed cultivation of wheat, Rice, barley, and other agriculture products in Indus Valley and Indo-Gagenetic plains (Trivani), while other were more self centered, cruel, greedy, revenging, animal hunting, destructive, and hawkish in nature . Due to different ideologies and idiosyncrasy later were forced to migrate from Indian continent.

Climatic and Geographical EffectsIn Indias South hot climate, most people are dark-skinned with black eyes and thick hairsthey still maintain their ancient culture and traditionsIn Northern India people are fair-skinned with blue eyes as Caucasians. Caucasian derived from Kashmiri AsianCashmere + Asian = Caucasian- BhupendraSome Indian Gods are fair while others have a darker complexion. Most of the Gods and Goddess have weapons like bows and arrows and swords - to protect non-violent pious Hindu farmers.

Origins of AcupunctureAcupuncture originated in the Central Asia alongside the use of yoga in India. It is mentioned in the Vedas (approx. 7,000 years ago) The Five Element Theory which originated in India, through Buddhist monks spread to Far Eastern countries.Acupuncture and Buddhism flourished together in the Far East.Buddhism and Acupuncture did not flourish in India.

Suchi-BhadenAcupuncture was practiced in India by the name of Suchi-Bhaden or Bhaden-Karmapracticed several millennia before Christear needling was practiced for 5000 yearsTechnique was usually referred as Marma (vital or pressure points treatment) ChikitsaEgypt, Persia, Brazilian, African tribes, Eskimos used acupunctureSushutra, the ancient renowned Ayurveda surgeon, described marma as very high concentration of vital energy

Marma & PranaAccording to Sushutra, the marma (reflex) points are centres of prana (life energy) and are termed as acupuncture pointsPrana is an energy permeating the universe at all levelsphysicalmentalsexualspiritualcosmicIt is the prime mover of all activitiesIt creates, protects and destroys the vigor, power, vitality and all forms of prana

Indian AcupunctureSuchi-Bhaden (Suchi=needle, Bhaden=Puncture) Shira-Bhaden - synonym to acupuncture.Originated beyond HimalayasAyurveda or herbal medicines were not available.Different instrumentsstonebonemetalused to puncture certain parts of the body in order to cure various ailments.

MAHABHARATIn this ancient Indian epic Bhisma Pitamah was kept alive for 58 days.

Bhisma Pithamah

Buddhism The great Indian Emperor AshokaKalinga war massacreinstrumental for the spread of Buddhismbuilt many templesbuilt rehabilitation centers for exercises and massage techniquesHis son Mahendra and daughter Sanghmitra spread Buddhism in Far East, 3rd century BC.

Recent researchBuddha born in Kapileswar, India, not Kapilavastu, Nepal.A rock inscription now at Ashutosh museum in Kolkata reads that King Ashoka conducted a workshop at Kapileswar where Buddha was born.Indian Archeological Survey has discovered that Buddha visited Kapileswar (now called Kosala) in 240 BC where he was born.More research is in progress in collaboration with the Japan Foundation for Asia Center.

Development of Buddhism in IndiaHindu priests vs. BuddhismBuddhism only welcomed by lower classesHinduism = life styleonly practiced by privileged and higher classesmany sub-divisionsNeglected groups accepted Buddhism. In contrast, in China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan and Sri Lanka Buddhism was warmly welcomed and accepted.

Buddhism and AcupunctureMonks were not allowed to carry any weaponstrained in martial arts to protect themselves from opponents of their new religion and robbers during their far travelDuring their long travel they built many temples, Buddhas statues and even beautiful carvings and paintingsstayed for quite a long period for preaching and helping peopleleft behind a priest, educator or ambassador to help the needy and maintain the place

Buddhism and AcupunctureKalaki, an ancient Indian martial art, was practiced and preached in the templesbrought to China from India by Bodhidharmataught in Shaolin templesmentioned in Milindapanha, a scripture written in the form of questions and answers between King Milinda and monk superior Nagasena

Spread of BuddhismKnowledge of unarmed self defense - even against weapons - was employed during the fast spread of Buddhism in the Orient.China built a monastery at Shaoshih peak of Sungshan mountains in Hunan province to provide facilities for monks during their travel to China. The monastery built in 300 A.D was known as Shaoline templebecame well known for Buddhas preaching, martial arts and herbal medicines

Acupuncture and SurgerySurgery or dissecting prohibited in ChinaConfucius: human body is a gift from Godshould not be dissectedtherefore no traditional form of surgerySurgery was more advanced in India at the time:The vast variety of Indian surgical instruments which have come down to us from the first millennium A.D. suggest that surgery had developed to an extraordinary extent in early India. The sutures and needles described in the Sushutra texts of several thousand years earlier looked no different (to those used during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries). Straight and bent needles of bone and bronze were used.- Jugen Thorwald, Medical Historian

Acupuncture and MoxibustionAcupuncture and Moxibustion treatments well-described in AyurvedaGreat trio: Charak, Sushutra and VagbhataSuchi Veda - translated as The Art of Piercing With Needlewritten 3000 years agoAncient Ayurvedic physician Charak used acupuncture for treatment and surgical proceduresIf the physician comes across a patient suffering from syncope, thenNEEDLING (acupuncture) and BURNING (moxibustion)are helpful in bringing about consciousness.

Tibetan MedicineThe Buddha has written much text on Indian medicinespreserved and guarded by Buddhist monks in Tibetacupuncture and herbal medicines were taught in Tibet The Tibetan system, mainly derived from Indian Buddhist medicine centers around restoring and maintain balance between the three humors called Wind (Vata), Bile (Pitta) and Phlegm (Kapha). Experienced Tibetan physicians have used the system for more than a thousand years. And last (in the Fourth Shastra) is a section dealing with accessory therapy, these include Moxibustion, Acupuncture, Surgery and so forth.- Dr. Yeshi Donden, former physician to the Dalai Lama

Acupuncture and AyurvedaVedic therapeutic methods date back to prehistoric eraMany Chinese travelers came to India for business or learning Sanskrit from Nalanda and Takshashila Universitieswritten extensively about the local treatment techniques:acupuncturepulse diagnosisFive Element Theorypracticed in India but also taught to foreignersAcupuncture (needling therapy) described as Marma Chikitsa in ancient Ayurveda booksMany historical texts available in the University of Leningrad library (USSR) regarding the Indian origins of Acupuncture

Acupuncture in ChinaAcupuncture and Five Element concept was brought to China through Buddhism ~ 563 B.C. Bian stone needle - 550 BC Chinese historic records.3000 years ago (Shang Dynasty) hieroglyphs of acupuncture appeared in the inscription on bones and tortoise cells. Mentioned in Chinese medical records ~ 500-300 B.C.five element concept

Acupuncture in ChinaThe Chinese Sanskrit scholar, Monk Yijing (635-713 CE, Tang Dynasty), came to India during Harshas rule (590- 649) and studied at the University of Nalanda.acupuncture and pulse diagnosis originated in Indiataught to foreigners by Indian Ayurveda physicians at ancient Indian UniversitiesIn China total ban on acupuncture from 1822 to 1944April 1945 an Acupuncture clinic was opened at International Peace Hospital, Yanan in the name of Dr. Norman Bethune by Chairman Mao Zedong

Development of Yoga The goal of Yoga is achieved by many methods:chanting Mantrasattaining different posturesmeditation Prayanamdancing styles MudrasContributed from different areasGave birth to the present form of Yoga

Development of YogaIndians chanted mantras during rituals and ceremoniesadapted to concentrate the mindused special words with long wavelengths to stimulate body Chakras or MurmasSome tribes in the North believed in shamanic activities; developedhypnotismmeditationtelepathy

Development of YogaIn Indian temples, dancing was a regular practiceto please the Godas an appreciation for their lifegood for keeping good healthgave birth to many MudrasYogic breathing techniques (Pranayam) were developed in Tibet and China

Development of YogaAll these statements are hypothesesWhy?there were no boundaries and territories at that time. But one fact remains:Yoga originated and developed in Central Asia, probably more in the region of Indian continent

Mythological Origin of YogaLord Sadashiva is believed to be the first individual who practiced yoga.Sada means timeless and everywhere, while Shiva means nature. In Hindu mythology, Shiva is Adipurush - who has no beginning or end.He has always been there before anything existed.

Original Concept of Yin and YangShiva is also known as Ardhanarishwar - containing right half body of male and left half of female. There is no male (Chetna or Yang) without female (Zara or Yin) In other words there is always Chetna within Zara and Zara within Chetna. There is Testosterone and Progesterone in both sexes.

Original Concept of Yin and YangThe symbol of Shiva, the Shivalinga, projects the origin of life.the male and female genitals within each otherThere are many portraits of Shiva in different forms projecting art, culture and science. The snake, which always resides around the neck of Lord Shiva, is a symbol of healing - even in western medicine

Shiva

Linking Shiva & Shakti to Yin & YangShiva (consciousness) and Shakti (energy) are two corresponding equal but opposite forces.Prana Shakti - vital energy - is defined to be the basis of life. Two components:one with we are bornanother which we receive by inhaling fresh air

Linking Shiva & Shakti to Yin & YangIn its primordial state consciousness is united with prana like water and salt in the ocean.Shiva is consciousness - corresponds to mindShakti is responsible for all the movements and activities of the body (which is in fact governed by the mind)When they become separated they play different roles in the realm of creation. There is no mental activity without Shakti; both are interdependent on each other and one can not exist without other.

Concept of PranaPrana is life energymust be present at the time of birthmakes the fetus movemakes the fetus aware of its activity and presenceThe soul enters the body at fifth month of pregnancyThe soul (consciousness) and prana (bio-energy) are different but related entitiesThe soul, including prana, first unites with Ether (Akash; sky; heaven) before uniting with other five elements

Concept of PranaPrana is the positive side of the equationlike the electricity that flows through the bodyThere are six elements:EtherFireWaterEarthWindPrana

Concept of PranaAccording to Ayurveda:the five physical elements act as a receptacle for life - the positive force or Prana - and later for the conscious aspect or soulEther enters the body with prana and contains negative forcethis is how the circle is completed having both negative and positive forces

Concept of Energy and MatterMatter is a gross form of energyinherent energy in matter can be liberated, but it will not be the final productAt the highest and most subtle level of vibration, energy manifests as pure consciousnessAs the rate of vibration decreases, it appears to be pure energyfinally it solidifies into matter

Concept of Energy and MatterIn the reverse order, matter can be transformed into energy, and energy into consciousnessThe main objective of yoga:to experience the inherent energy in matter and mind so that consciousness manifests

Mind and MatterBecause of our limited perception we often think that the physical body or the mass of earth; sun and moon are just gross mattershowever, matter is only one stage of energyIn another state of manifestation, matter again becomes energy or lightYoga applies same principle to mind

Mind and MatterMind is considered a form of matter, which operates as a higher energy level with changing rate of vibrationThe more the mind is absorbed in physical and materialistic world, the grosser it becomesconsciousness or awareness can function lessthere is no space left for spiritual processes because of there are fewer vibrations

Law of Interchangeability Matter, energy and consciousness are convertiblebased on the modern concept of particles, molecules and atomsThe difference between each mass is based on:the arrangement of the moleculesthe vibration of the particles

Law of Interchangeability Any change in the arrangement of the molecular structure will change the form of the matterFor example: a piece of iceparticles are closely packed together - vibration is lowheating changes to liquid, particles separate - vibration increasesmore heat, water becomes vaporparticles more further apart and vibrate fasterIn the same way, yoga considers pure consciousness to be the basic element which manifests in the various forms of creation

Chain of Continuity All particles of all objects are interconnected with the particles of their surrounding environmentEverything is interconnected and forms part of a never-ending field matrix of particlesthe atoms, electrons, protons, photons that compose our bodies.every thing which is connected with our life:clothesfoodairAll are arranged in different densities, combinations and vibrationsat a certain point these atoms all interact and interline

Characteristics of Two Energies Males contain Yang (positive) energy:suffer problems like:Myocardial infarctionStrokesFemales possess Yin (negative) energy:suffer disorders:nervous breakdownhysteriadepressionmigraine

Punch Bhuta (Bhaoutic, Physics) Indian Five Elements1. Sky (Akash)Represents empty space a substance of divine consciousness and intelligenceone observable quality:soundobjects that move create Yavu (Air)

Punch Bhuta (Bhaoutic, Physics) Indian Five Elements2. Air (Vayu)responsible for all the movements in the bodysymbolic of breathingTwo observable qualities:SoundMovement movements create friction which leads to fire

Punch Bhuta (Bhaoutic, Physics) Indian Five Elements3. Fire (Agni)subtle form: electricityresponsible for transformation food to energy, blood and tissuesthree observable qualities:sound (cracking)visualfeel

Punch Bhuta (Bhaoutic, Physics) Indian Five Elements4. Water (Jul)four observable qualities:visual feel taste flowing

Punch Bhuta (Bhaoutic, Physics) Indian Five Elements5. Earth (Dharti)all the solid organs in the bodyfive observable qualities:soundvisualtastesmelltouch

Role of Five Elements in the Origin of LifeAt the time of fertilization during coitusmovement restored by Windleading to friction (orgasm); resulting in sweating or heat or Firecausing ejaculation of semen or Waterwhich fertilizes the ovum forming zygote leading to solidification and that is EarthEmbryonic development (growth) represents WoodApoptosis (programmed cell death) leads to shape; form and features result from craftsmanship - Metal

Role of Five Elements in the Origin of LifePrana - positive energy (Male) - joins with Ether - negative energy (Female)The human body is the by-product of life force or Prana

Any imbalance in the proper and rhythmic flow of this energy disturbed by any of the five elements will manifest in to Dis-ease or discomfort

Concept of Prana (life force)Prana - life force - is a universal energyruns in the meridian/nadia systembalanced by the five elements

Energy and matterEinstein described how energy and matter is interchangeable in his equation E=MC2E is energym is massc is the speed of light in a vacuummass-energy equivalence

Energy and matterYoga is based on the idea that total internal energy - E - of a body at rest is equal to the product of its rest mass - m - and a suitable conversion factorunits of mass units of energyMatter is the most compressed and compact form of energyvibrates at infinite levels with different frequenciesBoth matter and energy have the same origin

Historical Scriptures on YogaYoga mentioned in the Vedas ~ 7000 years ago Patanjali was a distinguished yogi - Devrishiwrote a foundational book on Yoga ~ 4000 years agodescribed the art of controlling mind waves

Historical Scriptures on YogaPracticed in royal familieskept the mind relaxed while making many important decisionscalled Raja YogaForbidden for othersLater, many forms of Yoga developed:Karma yoga mentioned in Bhagwatgitaderived from Vedantas

YogaYoga derived from Sanskrit word Yog, meaning union or onenessIt isa process of self-disciplinea union with self and universal awarenessunity and integrity with conscious and subconsciousnessthe study of matter, universal energy, Yin and Yang, macro and microcosmic path of the universe

YogaBrings harmony and awareness with own self and Mother NatureThe art of moving in peace and stillnessNot a religion like Hinduism, but a way of lifebased on experienceknowledgethe study of two equal, opposite but complementary forces Zara and Chetna

Study of YogaHelps inform the relationship between body and mind functionsGenerates a connection between consciousness and sub-consciousnessExamines the matter and energy phenomenonExamines Yin and Yang energiesObserves macrocosmic and microcosmic naturesExplores the path of the universeExplores the relationship between humans and God (Super-human powers)Browsing the features of time and spaceStudies the universal operating patternsObserves the KarmaStudies the particles of awarenessThe phenomenon of action and reactionDepth study of emotions, stress, intellect, and tension

Goals of YogaTo achieve higher state of life naturally by living more consciouslyTo absorb more vital energy during everyday activitiesRequires:discipledevotionpracticeThe ultimate goal of yoga is to gain control over different functions of body and mind

Development of YogaAncient discipline; many forms developed over the centuriesYoga is a systematic approach to become one with lifea meditational discipline generates desire to achieve highest potential in life

Kinds of YogaRaja yoga = practiced by kings to calm the mindKarma yoga = form of serviceencourages service towards othersHata yoga = health through mastery of the bodyBhagti yoga = path of devotion and loveMantra yoga = focuses on the vibration and radiations of lifeLayakriya yoga = path of sexual relationship to achieve fulfillment

Procedures and MechanismYoga postures vary:sitting postures to movement aimed at toning the body and making it full of vitalityeach posture divided into three main categories:body movementscontrol of mental activitiesrespiratory techniques

Procedures and MechanismBreathing correctly is the most important processbreathing is the center of our whole lifeprovides oxygenvitalizes the autonomic nervous systemWhen tense, breathing is:irregularuncontrolledshallowThe diaphragm is critical in slowing and controlling breathinghelps the body and mind to relax

Procedures and MechanismWhen first learning yoga, control of diaphragm and anal sphincter become the prima-facieRaising diaphragm helps raise transverse colon confirmed by x-ray during yogic practicehelps reduce intra-abdominal pressure provides better conditions for the functions of abdominal organs:more spacebetter circulation

Scientific EvidenceThe circulatory system can greatly be benefited by yoga:Peacock asan helps increase the blood flow to pancreashelps patients with diabetes by stimulating islets of LangerhansSheers asan helps blood pool in the head and neckhelps pituitary gland and endocrine system

Scientific EvidenceRegular yoga returns heart rate and blood pressure to normal Many yogis have complete control of their bodies:metabolic systemcardio-vascular systemdigestive systemrequires dedicated practice under the guidance of a guruBy controlling breathing, yogis can produce alpha rhythms at will, altering their state of mind

Scientific EvidenceMany great yogis can induce theta waves 75% of the timenot normally observed during normal activitysometime observed during periods of high creativity

Raja (Royal) YogaProbably oldest formStrictly taught and practiced among the members of royal familiesRequires mediation on a fixed object to achieve silence in the mind using mantras

Kundalini YogaDifficult form that stimulates spiritual life force at the base of the spineAchieved through physical movements and breathing exercisesUses to cosmic and sexual energies to enhance body energy systemConnects universe to body through meditation and postureEnergy moves up to 7 energy centres until reaching top of skull

Hatha Yoga: Ha (Sun), Tha (Moon)ExercisesStretchingStress managementBalancing body inner-stimulants:feelingthinkingwillingacting

Ashtanga YogaWorks at cellular levelUses breathing techniques to generate strong heatPurifies body and mindRelaxes nervous system

Tantra YogaDifficult form of yoga that requires:concentrationexpansion on divine power to:transform personal limitationsrealize subconscious blockage awarenessharmonize male and female aspect within each living individual

Kriya YogaAs old as Raja YogaMixture of Raja Yoga, Jana and Bhakti YogaPerformed in two ways:Strict self-disciplineLeads to total control of:mindbodyphysical needs and desiresdevotion to GodMovements of life force up and down the spineopening Chakras to achieve spiritual realization

Bhakti Yoga (Devotional Yoga)Simplest form of YogaSuitable for person of emotional nature.Self-surrender to identify the higher selfGaining knowledge by total submission to God or Guru with security and sinceritybecome a more modest person without any ego

Karma YogaTeaches we are only responsible for our good deeds and actions, not their results:one should not be discouraged or over whelmed by any result keep performing jobs without caring about outcomesHelps end addiction to pleasure through detachment from outcomes

Jhana YogaSelf-analysis with reasoninghelps us reach GodGod is within each of usOrdinary mind is used to transcend itselfMinds false identities are discounted until higher self emerges

Mantras (Chanting)Helps concentrate the mind by chanting special phrases, usually given by the Gurutypically never disclosed and sharedMantras are:wordsphrasessyllablesusually in Sanskritthoughtfully chanted until mind and body is calmA way to separate the mind from our materialistic worldMind is transcended and the super-conscious is revealed

Chakra and Nadi Network System 72,000 nadisForm dense network connecting every cell of the bodySupply vital energy (prana) to tissuesAct as a connection between organs for proper coordinationany flow imbalance of prana shakti results in diseasecan be caused by multiple exogenous and endogenous factors

Chakra and Nadi Network System Blockage in energy flow may be caused by:over-crowding leading to stagnationlack of energy due to deficiencyeither can be treated well by acupuncturePoints are like step-up transmittersmaintain proper flow of energy without any fluctuation in the energy flowHelps body communicate with external environmenthelps adapt to changing climatic conditions

Indian Nadi System

Indian Meridians and Nadi SystemMeridian (energy channel system) described in detail in AyurevedaDhamini (arteries) Sira (veins) Resayani (lymphatics) Srotan (main meridians)Nadi (capillaries)Nadi penetrates bodyruns from toe to headdistributes vital energy or Qi all over the body

Indian Five ElementsFive-element theory: underling basis of existencetheoretical concepts of Indian medicine based on cosmosZara and ChetnaBody comprised of five elements:skyairfirewaterearthearth includes wood and metalnature is of two types Zara (Yin) and Chetna (Yang)

Meridians & Five ElementsMeridians of acupunctureinvisible pathways of energyacupuncture points are depressions in skinfive elements lie within these hollowsflow of vital energy is regulated

Indian Five ElementsDynamic struggle in the Universe between opposing and unifying forcesAll living beings are part of the Universewhatever applies to the Universe must apply to these beingshealth is determined by fluctuation of these forceshomeostatic / regulatory concept of health and diseaseshealthy state = forces are in balanceIn the healthy balanced state, normal vital energy is producedPrana Shakti flows through NadiExcess or deficiency of forces, influenced by five elements, causes imbalance, leading to disease

Indian Acupuncture PointsAcupuncture points are hollow depressions just beneath the skins surfaceall the five elements are found in tracespoints regulate the flow of vital energyact as step-up transmittersmaintain proper flow of energyUnfortunately, the health and energy teachings of scholar Rishi Augast, has been lostof the 72 volumes written, only 40 volumes remain

Lethal Murma - Dangerous PointsUsed by martial art experts Warriors knew these lethal murma can be stimulated by:pressureheatarrowsCan cause sudden death, paralysis or delayed deathPhysicians have used Murma to save patientsalso used during surgical operations

Lethal Murma - Dangerous Points

Points related to Air element can cause sudden deathwhen an arrow or spear is removed from this pointFire element points cause delayed deathWater element points cause a slow deathAll physicians were required to know these lethal murma once they begin practiceBruce Lee may have been a victim of Fire murma (delayed death)World famous boxer, Mohammad Ali (suffered from Paralysis Agitance - Parkinsons) may have been a victim of Water murma

Concept of ChakrasLiteral definition of chakra: cycle or wheel that rotatesenergy fly-wheels located at various strategic places in the bodyChakras correspond to their own system of meridians or channelssimilar in many ways yet differentbeautiful description of the Nervous Systemplexus, ganglion, dermatomes, myotomes and sclerotomes

Kundalini ChakrasSeven major chakras2 located on the head5 along the middle of trunk

Kundalini ChakrasMany other minor chakras located onwristelbowkneesankle

Body ChakrasChakras are cycles of energy that correspond to points on the spinal cordLower Chakras:primitivesensationalinstinctivegross vibrationsMiddle Chakras:related to vital energy, emotions, and inspirationUpper Chakras:centre of most advanced and pure awarenesssubtle vibrations

Location of Chakras Corresponding to Spinal Cord

Kundalini Shakti - PowerAccording to Indian philosophy, Prana Shakti (Qi - vital energy) is the basis of lifeThis vital energy has another plane known as Kundalini - serpent powerpower in a coiled formWhen stimulated or evoked by yoga it gets uncoiledbegins to reverse and retrace a path to its parental sourcesvital energy (life force) - Shaktimind (consciousness) - Chetna

Kundalini Shakti - PowerKundalini Shakti depends on two opposite charges of vital energy: zara and chetna - yin and yangthis extraordinary energy or force exists in different planesphysicalastralpsychicWhen charges unite on a plane, it transforms this force on a subsequent planeKundalini shakti closely related to governing vessel

Location of Energy Centres (Chakras)These centers of energy control all meridians (nadis) 1st = Kundalini shakti, below coccyx, between perineum and anus2nd = coccygeal plexus, below the sacrum3rd= prostate plexus4th = lumbar plexus5th = cardiac plexus6th = esophageal plexus7th = cavernous plexus, posterior part of glabela

Kundalini PowerKundalini chakras correspond to acupuncture pointsWhen stimulated, power begins an upward journey through meridian (nadi)Six symptoms of awakening, Vedhyamai, similar to what a patient feels after acupuncture:feeling of well beingtrembling of whole bodynewborn energytranquility of mindsedationawareness of self and surroundings

VedhyamaiAwakening Kundalini is a universal eventKundalini yoga is the awakening and cultivating the dormant and changeable powers of kundaliniknowledge obtained by thousands of years of dedicated research, thinking, experience and meditation by many great yogisresides physically in the lower chakras, but also in the spiritual bodyThrough practice, kundalini may become awakened: Vedhyamai

VedhyamaiRemoving prana blockages leads to chakra awakening:provides heavenly peacetranquility of mindawareness of soundingsperfect physical, spiritual and mental healthnew born energyAll these feelings generated by awakening the Kundalini are called Vedhyamai

VedhyamaiProcess of purification of karma and awareness beginsTrail of individualization beginsleads to higher evolutionUltimate goal of yoga is when prana shakti reaches the sahasrara, the highest chakra at crownleads to vedhyamaior even samadhiawareness meets energy and all becomes onetotal detachment from materialistic worldly life
