• The Institute participated in BT Top – 100 Business Schools Ranking-2013 conducted
by ‘Bureaucracy Today’. The Institute ranked 15th
amongst top 100 Business
Schools. The Institute was rated on various criteria like Intellectual Capital, Students
& Admissions, Placement, Infrastructure facilities, Sports, Curriculum, Pedagogy &
Industry interaction.
• The Institute participated in Indian B-School Ranking 2013 conducted by Discovery
Education Media’s MBA by choice. The Institute has been ranked B+ on various
parameters like Intellectual Capital (C+), Infrastructure (AA), Curriculum Pedagogy
(A), Industrial Interface (C+) & Placement record (B).
• Most upcoming Best –B-School
The Institute has received ‘Most Upcoming B-School award’ from Associated
Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHEM) on 19th Feb 2014 in
ASSOCHEM National Education Summit & Excellence awards. The award was
given by Padmavibhushan Dr. Karan Singh.
The evaluation was done on the basis of Teaching Learning Process, Research,
Placement, Innovations, Infrastructure, Library, Various Co-curricular and Extra-
curricular activities organized by the Institute. Prof. U. H. Nagarkar and Prof. Manoj
Kulkarni attended and received award in ASSOCHEM National Education Summit &
Excellence awards in New Delhi.

Student Achievement
• Ms. Chaitali Lodha of MBA I scored 100/100 marks in Statistical & Quantitative
Techniques subject in University examination May 2013.
• On 25th
August 2013 two MBA students won prizes in the following category in an
inter collegiate drama competition. The play titled ‘Makad Mewa’ won two awards.
For Vachik abhinay Mr. Shantanu Joshi of MBA I & for Prakash Yojana Mr. Nikhil
Gandhi of MBA I won awards.
• Mr. Santosh Chaluke, Ms. Isha Kyadar and Mr. Sumesh Nair students of MBA II
participated and secured first runner up position in ‘Bliztkrieg’ , a state level Case
study competition conducted by Sinhgad Education Society, Pune on 4th
and 5th
February, 2014.

• Orientation for MBA
Orientation programme for MBA-I students was conducted on 25th
July and 6th
August
2013. On 25th
July, in the pre lunch session, Director General , Dr. S.B.Kolte guided the
students on “importance of 3 C’s( Change, Competition, and core concepts) in life.”.
Director Dr. M.B.Mehta introduced the students with B.P.H.E. Society, Dr.Meera
kulkarni, Head Management Department introduced to the course. In the post lunch
session group activity was conducted. The objective of the activity was to break the ice
and make the students familiar with the culture of IMS in an informal way.
On 6th
August, orientation series – II was conducted in which Mr. Yogesh Deo, Plant
Manager, Eaton, Ahmednagar delivered a lecture on “Manager V/S Leader.” He talked
about the qualities of a leader by quoting examples of great leaders.
• Management Games
Management Department organized Management Games “SHAURYA 2013” with an
objective of building and enhancing different managerial skills among the students. This
event was held on 3rd
and 4th
September 2013. MBA I and MBA II students were divided
into ten groups. Various games took place in this event which included Social Activity,
Sponsorship, Brand Wagon, Ad Mad Show, Mock Stock, HR Team Building and Best
Manager. Ms. Khanuja Ishpreet Bajinder from MBA I won the Best Manager award.
Team Mechanized Infantry Regiment were the overall winners and Team Sikh
Regiment were the overall Runners up in the event.

• On the job training – Real life
MBA II students (23 Marketing & 1 HR) supported Big Bazaar from 10th
– 15th
August
2013 during the 6 Mahabachat din. They were paid a stipend and given a certificate of
appreciation. MBA I students supported Big Bazaar from 24th
to 26th
January 2014
during the 3 Mahabachat din.
• Parent Teacher Meet
Parent Teacher Meet of MBA Students was organized by Management Department on
Wednesday, 21st August 2013 at 5:30 PM onwards. The meeting started with a welcome
address by Dr. S. B. Kolte. This was followed by address on B.P.H.E. Society and about
the institute from Dr. M. B. Mehta and address on the departmental activities from
Dr. Meera Kulkarni. Prof. P A Laxmanyya also discussed various aspects related to
Placements. All the parents were divided into ten groups and each faculty member
personally answered different queries and doubts from the parents. The meet ended with
a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. D. A. Kulkarni.
• Two sessions of MDP training
Two sessions of training was conducted by a team of faculty members of Management
Department for employees (managerial, workers & staff) of Hoganas India, Ahmednagar
on ‘Personality Development’ on 26th
February 2013 & 29th
June 2013. The Institute
charged Rs. 10,000/- per day for the said training.
• FDP on MBA Semester II (CBCS Pattern)
A Faculty Development Program was organized by the Institute in association with
University of Pune and Association of MBA/MBS Institutes (AMMI) on Wednesday
19th
Feb, 2014. The FDP was organized for six courses namely Marketing Management,
Financial Management, Decision Science, Human Resource Management, Management
Information System and Operations and Supply Chain Management. Lead faculty
members from Pune, Dr. Abhay Kulkarni, Dr. Milind Marathe, Dr. Shriram Nerlekar,
Dr. Satish Ubale, Dr. Sharad Patil, Dr. Ashuosh Misal and Prof. Santosh Shinde guided
the participating faculty members. 55 faculty members from nine management institutes
in Ahmednagar district participated in the FDP. Honorable Dr. E. B. Khedkar, Dean
Faculty of Management, University of Pune and Executive President AMMI graced the
valedictory function of the FDP and enlightened the participants with his thought
provoking speech. Dr.A.R.Mancharkar was the coordinator of this FDP.

journal is internationally indexed and listed at Cabell's Directory of Publishing
Opportunities, Texas.
4. Sachin Gholap Published a Paper titled ‘Quality of Higher Education & its
Evaluation’ (in Marathi) in Online Electronic Journal named as 'Global Online
Electronic Interdisciplinary Research Journal (GOEIIRI, ISSN 2278-5639) –

5. Prof.Vikram Barnabas authored a research paper titled ‘Entrepreneurship
problems and prospects’ which was published in International journal of

• MPM activities
Study tour of MPM students
� A study tour of MPM students was organized during 19th
September 2013 to 21st
September 2013. During the study tour students visited the following:-
1. Met Hon. Shri Sharad Pawar, Minister of Agriculture, Govt. of India. They
had a discussion with him on various topics.
2. Students visited ‘Parliament House’, New Delhi and observed work culture
of the Parliament.
3. Students visited Planning Commission and discussed the process of
development of the country
4. Students visited ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan’.
� MPM students visited DSK motors, Ahmednagar for studying the activity of HR
functions. Mr. Ashish Redkar & Mr. Gajanan Khairkar gave all necessary
information to students. During the visit Hon D.S. Kulkarni, Chairman of DSK
group also guided the student which was very effective and motivational.
� An industrial visit was organized for MPM students to Vrudheshwar Sahakari
Sakhar Karkhana, Kasar Pimpalgaon on 25th
Feb, 14. The students gained insight
into the processing of sugarcane into sugar. It was a highly informed visit for the
students.
• Authors speak jointly with Library
Mr. Anand Awadhani & Mr. Sanjay Joshi, (Ex Vice President, Idea Cellular) two
individuals associated with the book “Big Boss” (A compilation of successful
Maharashtrians from the corporate sector) were invited to interact with students. A book
exhibition was sponsored by Uday Agency & Parle biscuits were sponsored by Parle
Company .The talk motivated on having the right attitude in ones work life.
PGDBM and MBS activities
Orientation programme
Orientation programme was conducted for PGDBM and MBS students on 22nd
July, 13.
Prof. D. W. Kamlapurkar, Course Coordinator, Dr. V. S. Dikonda and Prof. Isha Punjabi
guided the students on new syllabus and the examination pattern. The students were also
guided on the code of conduct of the Institute.
Visit to MIRC and Armored Static Workshop
A Visit to MIRC and Armored Static Workshop was organized for students of PGDBM
and MBS on 31st August, 2013. Students were explored to horse riding school, Armored
tanks and Military canteen. They were also given the information about the Army
protocols.
Guest Lecture
Two guest lecturers were arranged for the students of PGDBM and MBS on 25th
and 26th
Feb,2013 by Mr. Kiran Joshi of Hogans India Ltd and Adv. Maya Sose on the topic
‘Principles of Effective Presentation and Economic Environment of Business with
reference to Agriculture Sector’

• Spirit of Partnership Award from TCS
Tata Consultancy Services presented Spirit of Partnership Award for our
outstanding achievement in making ‘GATE’, the largest online aptitude assessment
an enormous and resounding success This award was awarded by Venguswamy
Ramaswamy, Global Head , iON Tata Consultancy Services.
Staff achievement
Mr Pratap Gaikwad Senior Technician completed M.B.A. from Y.C.M.O.U & M.C.M.
from University of Pune.

� Ms. Ankita Khandelwal and Ms.Bobby Katarpawar ( MCA I) won 2nd
prize
in PPT building competition on the topic ‘Green Computing’ in State level
competitions organized by Sinhagad Institute of Technology, Lonavala –
‘Technobit 2013’. Mr. Padmanathan and Ms. Arul Jency ( MCA II) won 2nd
prize in Project Exhibition & Lab innovation in State level competitions
organized by Sinhagad Institute of Technology, Lonavala – ‘Technobit
2013’.
� Interaction 2014 - Modern college of Arts, Science & commerce Pune had
organized a state level competition ‘Interaction 2014’ on 21st & 23rd
January
2014. 35 colleges & more than 500 students, participated in the event.
Students of IMSCD&R bagged the ‘Overall championship’ in the

• Workshop
� A two days workshop on ‘Mobile Technology’ was organized on 13th
& 14th
July
2013. Mr. Prashant Sable, Mr. Kalim Sayyed & Mrs. Amrutha Patil, , Trainers,
Veloziti LLC (proquest) Pune, conducted the workshop. Introduction to mobile
Computing, Opportunities in mobile technology and 3 hour hands on session on
web services & Android Technology was also conducted as a part of this
workshop.
� Alumni’s of our Institute Mr Prashant Sable ,Mr Kalim Sayyed and Ms
Amruta Patil from Veloziti, Pune, conducted a workshop on ‘Development of
Mobile Application’ MCA III students on 13th July 2013.
� Career Guidance Interaction session was organized for MCA III students on
10th Aug. 2013. Star Alumni Mr. Satish Shetty, currently working with
Amdocs, Pune guided the students on “How to become ready for Industry”.
� A one day workshop on Agile Methodology was conducted by Mr. Shrinivas
Kalvit, for MCA and MCM students on 1st February 2014. Mr. Shrinivas Kalvit
is Certified Scrum Master, having 10 years of IT experience working on Oracle
PL/SQL, forms, report, Unix, PRO*C platforms and is currently working as an
Architect and Scrum Master for a team developing retail banking products and
expertise in data modeling, PL/SQL programming and performance tuning in
Opus Soft Solutions, Yarawada, Pune. The workshop was arranged in two
sessions. At the end of each session an activity based on Scrum development life
cycle was conducted by making groups of students.
� A guest lecture on PL/SQL and developer 2000 (D2K) was organized for the
students of MCA I & II on 1st March 2014. Mr. Shrinivas Kalvit, who is
currently working with Opus Soft Solutions, Pune guided the students on how to
develop project and create reports using Developer 2000(D2K), Forms6i, Report
6i as front end and Pl/SQL (Oracle 10g) as back end.
� IT Department has conducted Two Days Workshop on Android Programming
sponsored by University of Pune on 17th
January 2014 and 18th
January 2014.
Workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Ajit Thadani, Retailware

Fest-Der-Tech2013
On the occasion of IT day (20th
August) IT department organized various competitions
which received an overwhelming response.
These competitions were organized for the students of B.A, B.Com, B. Sc, B.C.A,
B.C.S, M.Sc, M.C.M and M.C.A from Ahmednagar District. 774 students from 19
different institutes/colleges throughout the district participated in the event.
These competitions were organized for under graduate and Post graduate students.

• FDP on Android Application Development
As per the new syllabus of MCA and MCM, a Faculty Development Programme on
“Android Application Development” was organized for the faculty members of IT
Department. A FDP was conducted by Mr. Mahesh Mulay during 11th
– 12th
May and
18th
– 19th
May 2013 at IMS campus. Total 4 days of training was delivered which
included topics like Introduction to Android O.S., Android SDK, Architecture, Setup,
Application Lifecycle, Intents, Services, Resources, UI, Dialogs, and Database handling
etc. Faculties were trained on theory concept as well as its practical implementation
using live sessions in lab. Overall training was very useful.

• FDP on Data Structure Using C++
As per the new syllabus of MCA-III rd semester, a Faculty Development Programme on
Data Structure Using C++ was organized for the faculty members of IT Department. A
FDP was conducted by Prof. Lagad of Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar during 24th
June 2013 to 4th
July 2013 at IMS campus. Total 10 hours of training was delivered
which included topics like using pointers in C++, template design and implementation,
creating standard libraries and project in C++, as well as various data structure concepts
like Stack, Queue, Link List, Trees, Infix, Postfix and Prefix expressions, Polynomial
expressions, Heap, Graph, Matrices, and Array etc. Faculties were trained on theory
concept as well as its practical implementation using C++. Overall training was very
useful.

• FDP on revised curriculum
University of Pune and B.P.H.E. Society’s IMSCD&R had organized a full day FDP and
Orientation Programme on Revised Curriculum of MCA, MCM and PGDCM
programmes on 2nd
August 2013 at IMS campus, Station road, Ahmednagar.
The purpose of the programme was to make the faculties aware about the new grading
system which was implemented from academic year 2013-14 and to discuss various
issues related to revised curriculum of the said programmes.
Hon.Dr. E.B. Khedkar - Dean, Faculty of Management, Dr. S.B. Kolte – Director
General, and Dr. M.B. Mehta – Director, IMS were present to give the introductory
remarks.
Dr. A.G. Goje – VIIT Baramati, Dr. Vilas Nadawadekar – SIOM Pune, Dr. Santosh
Deshpande – IMCC Pune, Dr. Deepali Sawai, IICMR, Nigdi, Prof. N. Khachane, Prof.
Seema Bapat, and Dr. Ajay Kumar were the resource person for the said programme and
they conducted orientation for the faculty members.
Various issues like new grading system, project work, change in subjects, teaching and
evaluation methodology were discussed during the programme. It was decided that there
is a need for subject wise FDP for all the subjects of MCA Sem.-III and for MCM
subjects. Accordingly a schedule has been prepared for the several FDPs which are
going to be conducted at various institutes in Pune University region. A copy of
suggestions and points discussed in the programme was also going to be submitted for
implementation to the BOS Committee and the Dean.
About 80 faculties from various institutes from Pune University region have participated
in the said programme. Overall programme was very useful and faculties were
enlightened about revised curriculum.
All the faculty members of IT department have attended the said programme.
• Google Development Group session
Google Development Group’s session on 19th Feb 2014 was arranged in the
institute. Google Developer Group members Mr. Shishir Vaidya Manager GDG
delivered session about PIIC program. It was organized by IT placement team.

���� Entrepreneurship Development Centre Activities ����
• A Speech by Mr.D.S. Kulkarni Managing Director, DSK Developers Ltd, Pune was
organized by Entrepreneurship Development Centre of IMS. The speech was
organized on 18th
July, 2013 for commerce and management students of all the
colleges and institutes in Ahmednagar city. For this programme apart from students
many other dignitaries from Ahmednagar like industrialists, principals, directors and
professors of various colleges and institutions were present. Programme has got
enormous success; more than 3000 students from the schools & colleges in & around
Ahmednagar took the benefit of his lecture. Mr. D.S.K. shared his journey of
entrepreneurship with the students. He motivated students by telling his story of
“conversion of Rs. 60 crs. Capital to Rs. 6000 crs. Turnover.
• An Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized in Shri Ramkrishna Education
School and junior college. Camp was Organized on Saturday, 3rd
July 2013 for the
students of 10th
, 11th
and 12th
Standard. The camp was jointly organized by IMS
Entrepreneurship Development Centre and MCED, Ahmednagar. 140 students
participated in the camp. Prof. Rucha Tandulwadkar, Coordinator, IMS
Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Mrs. Radhika Mulay, Project officer,
MCED, Ahmednagar addressed the students on various aspects of Entrepreneurship.
An Elocution competition was organized on the theme of Entrepreneurship. Three
winners will receive an award worth Rs.500, Rs. 300 and Rs. 100.
• An Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized in Hind Seva Mandal’s
Schools viz. Smt. Parvatibai Dahanukar Kanya Vidyalaya, Sitaram Sarda Vidyalaya
and Dada Chaudhari Vidyalaya on 31st August, 6th
and 7th
September 2013 for the
students of 10th
Standard. The camp was organized by IMS Entrepreneurship
Development Centre Ahmednagar. 200 students participated in the camp. Prof.
Rucha Tandulwadkar, Co-ordinator , IMS Entrepreneurship Development Centre,
Prof. Sanjay Bhakkad and Prof. Muddasar Sayyed (Management Department) guided
the students on various aspects of Entrepreneurship. An Essay competition was

• Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the Institute organized a special lecture on
‘Careers in Aviation’ for people of Ahmednagar city on 28th
November 2013. Mr.
Yazdi Marker & Mr. Ronald Smith, experts from International Air Transport
Association (IATA) interacted with the people of Ahmednagar city.
• Meeting of IMS ED Centre: The meeting of ED centre Committee was conducted
on Tuesday, 21st January 2014. ED Centre has planned an ‘Ahmednagar District
Entrepreneur’s Meet’. Suggestions on creating entrepreneurial opportunities,
vocational training to aspiring entrepreneurs etc was given by committee members.
• Alumni Entrepreneur’s Meeting: Alumni Entrepreneur’s meeting was organized
on 13th
February, 2014. Alumni Entrepreneur’s from different field were present for
the meeting. Fruitful suggestions were given by them for strengthening the activities
of ED centre as well as to motivate the students towards entrepreneurship.
• Guest lecture was organized on 8th
February 2014, for the students of MBA – I &
MBA – II Finance Specialization. Lecture was conducted by Mr. Milind Kulkarni
(Entrepreneur) on the topic ‘Entrepreneurship Development’. The students were
motivated for opting Entrepreneurship as a career. Also emphasis was given on
generating ideas for businesses by visiting industries in Ahmednagar MIDC.
• Guest lecture was organized on 14th
March 2014 for the students of MBA I. Lecture
was conducted by Mr. Vyankatesh Raghuraman & Mrs. Tejaswini Vyankatesh,
ICreate India, Mumbai. Motivational talk on Entrepreneurship Development was
delivered by both of them.

• The Research Committee of the Institute has successfully conducted Ph.D. course
work part I for 30 hours from 9th
July 2013 to 13th

• The Research Committee of the Institute has conducted Ph.D. course work part II. 8
research students pursuing their Ph.D. programme under Management faculty in IMS
PG Research Centre have successfully completed Ph.D. course work Part II for 10
credits. The research students have given PPT presentation on Literature Review &
Secondary Data Analysis (5 credits) in front of the Committee members on Saturday,

July 2013. The research students have also submitted their presented / published
research papers (5 credits) to Research Centre of the Institute.
• Mr. Sunnichan V has successfully completed Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. V.D.
Barve in August 2013.
• The Research Committee of the Institute has conducted Ph.D. Course Work Part III.
08 Research Students pursuing their Ph.D. programme under Management Faculty in
IMS PG Research Centre have successfully completed Ph.D. Course Work Part III
for 05 credits. The research students have given PPT presentation on the basis of
Pilot Survey data analysis in front of the Committee Members on Tuesday, 7th
January 2014. The research students have also submitted their presented / published
research papers to Research Centre, IMS, Ahmednagar.

• Research Project / Work
The Institute is doing a research on 'Status of Primary & Sub Primary Health Centre's
in Ahmednagar & Pathardi Taluka'. For this research, Institute has conducted survey
of 15 Primary Health Centre's & 43 Sub Centre's in Ahmednagar and Pathardi
Taluka. Two faculty members Mr. Sachin Gholap & Mr. Pawar N. D. participated in
the same survey. Institute has also conducted a survey of beneficiaries of health
centres in Ahmednagar & Pathardi Taluka. 80 students from MBA, MCA & MPM
participated in the survey.
���� Institutional Activities ����
• Dr. Ms. Pronoti Telore attended a one day workshop ‘Sensitization workshop on
Sexual Crime against Women’ organized by AICTE on 31st August 2013. The
workshop was inaugurated by Shri K. Shankarnarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra,
presided by Mrs. V.E. Gaikwad, Minister of Women & Child Development,
Maharashtra and the Guest of Honour was Shri D.P. Sawant, Minister of State for
Higher & Technical Education, Maharashtra. Directives to schools, colleges and
institutes to have active preventive measures to curb the social evils of sexual crimes
against women were suggested.
• IMS Theatre Group has participated in “Natashreshtha Shahu Modak Karandak
Ekankika Spardha held on 24th

• Jewellery Designing Exhibition
On 6th
July 2013 Jewellery Designing exhibition was organized in the Institute. It
was inaugurated by Mrs. Heema Shelot. All the designs displayed in the exhibition
were designed by the students of the said course. Certificates were issued to passed
out students of Jewellery Designing course during the programme.
• Jewellery Designing Competition
On 29th
September 2013 Jewellery Designing competitions was organized in the
Institute. 21 participants were present for the same. On 8th
October 2013 a
programme was organized to give prizes to the winners of the competition. Mr.
Sagar Kaigaonkar & Mr. Dnyanesh Shinde were invited as guests for the programme
& prizes were distributed to the students.
• Vidyarthini Manch activity
� To mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi,
a seminar for all lady students & faculty members was organized on
‘Women’s health’. Dr. G.S. Gupta, a renowned ENT practitioner in
Ahmednagar, spoke on women’s health issues, diet and maintenance.
Followed by the seminar a Hemoglobin count check drive was organized by
Janakalyan Raktpedhi, Ahmednagar. 138 lady students’ & faculty members’
blood count was checked.
� A sensitization seminar on sexual crime against women was organized by
Vidyarthini Manch for lady students of Management & IT department on 29th
& 30th
January 2014. Sexual harassment was defined, complaint mechanism
and tips for women’s safety was discussed by Dr. Ms. Pronoti Telore.
� The Institute organized a program ‘Samvad’ on the occasion of International
women’s day on 13th
March 2014. Renowned film & drama actress Ms.
Rohini Hattangadi & Ms. Bharati Acharekar were interviewed by renowned
comparer Ms. Mangala Khadilkar. All lady faculty members of all the three
units under B.P.H.E. Society, girl students and ladies from Ahmednagar
attended the programme.
• NSS Activity
� The Institute received permission of University to start NSS Unit &
accordingly 40 students have been enrolled for this.
� Students of NSS unit visited ‘Pumpkin House’ Orphans school at Arangaon
road, Ahmednagar on 12th
October 2013. Students interacted with the kids &
staff of the house & gave ‘Parle Biscuits’ to them.
� Students of NNS unit visited Adarsha gaon Hivre Bazar on 8th
January 2014.
19 students from MPM I, II & PGDBM course were present. Students had
interaction with the villagers & Sarpanch Shri Popatrao Pawar.
� NSS unit of the Institute & Sakal Foundation jointly organized ‘Voters
awareness camp’ in our campus. Shri Anilkumar Kawade, District Collector,
Ahmednagar, Shri R.D. Shinde, Superintendent of Police, Ahmednagar &
Mr. Sunil Mali, Deputy District Election Officer, Ahmednagar were present
for this programme. They made an appeal to give vote and enroll names in
voters list. Prizes of sports competitions were given away at the hands of
these guests during the programme.
• Four students of ‘Certificate course in Travel & Tourism’ were selected as
Commercial Trainee by Air India. Interviews of the students were conducted by
Station Manager & Airport Manager. Selected students will get stipend of Rs.
8000/- p.m. during training period.
• National Conference On ‘Buddhism & corporate Culture ‘
A two days National Conference with the theme ‘Buddhism & corporate Culture’ in
association with ‘University Of Pune’ was organized by the Institute during 26th
&
27th
Oct 2013. Three States Participated in the conference & more than 100
Delegates were present from all over the state & country. 20 delegates presented
their paper in the Conference.
Objective of the Conference was to bring awareness of age old Buddhist practices in
a relevant way in today’s corporate culture, both at the individual & group level. It
was to improve productivity through furthering harmony, peace, nonviolence &
mindfulness to create a better & peaceful world. Sharing of this rich knowledge,
expertise & practice was of immense benefit to the audience.
The Chairman for the Inaugural ceremony of the conference was Dr. Vijay
Pandharipande -Vice Chancellor- Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,
Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The Chief Guest of the inaugural function was Hon’ble
Adv. Prakash Ambedkar- Ex Member of Parliament & Prof. Dr. W.K.Sarwade-
Director-Department of Management, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada
University Aurangabad, Maharashtra was the guest of honour.
Keynote address was given by Dr.Asoka N. Jinadasa – a Consultant & Master
Trainer in Soft Skills, SriLanka. Dr. G.K. Shirude, Dr.T.A Shiware & Dr.Asoka
Jindasa were invited as Technical experts for Technical session-I, & for Technical
session-II Dr. Arun Ingale & Dr.Asoka Jindasa shared their expertise. Panel
Discussion-I was chaired by Dr. (Capt.) C .M. Chitale, Professor & Head-
Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune, & other panel members
were, Prof. Dr.Yojana Bhagat, Head of Department –Pali, Mumbai University
Mumbai, Prof. Dr. Sumit Paul -Expert in Semitic religion & Philology.

A Guest lecture of Mr. Vikas Shirodkar , Vice President Human Resource General
Motors India, was organized on 18th
Feb, 2014 on the topic ‘Organization
expectations from the HR Students’. HR invitees from various organizations,
Dr. S. B. Kolte (Director General IMSCDR), Dr. Meera Kulkarni , Head of Mgt.,
Prof. U. H. Nagarkar, Head of IT and all MBA & MCA faculties, students in full
strength have attended this lecture.
• Blood Donation Camp:
On Founders day, (22nd
Jan 2014) a blood donation camp was organized by the
institute in association with Arpan Voluntary Blood Bank, Ahmednagar. 75 students
and faculty members donated blood on that day.
• The Institute started One Year Diploma in Hospital Administration’ course with 16
students. A guest lecture was organized for students of Diploma in Hospital
Administration course on 8th
March 2014. Dr. Ashok Singhal, Head, Dr. Ram
Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi guided the students on ‘Hospital Planning –
Engineering Services.
• Alumni Meet
Alumni Meet ‘Nostalgia 2014’ was organized on 8th
March 2014. Col. P.S. Lamba
from ACC, Ahmednagar was the Chief Guest. More than 300 Alumni participated
in the meet with enthusiasm and nostalgic memories. The Alumni interacted with
the present batch students and shared their experiences.
‘Alumni Newslettter’ was published in the meet. The ‘Star Alumni’ were awarded
for their achievements in professional career. The Alumni participated in variety of
entertainment programmes with vigor. The Alumni also gave valuable feedback.

• Management Day
Management Day was organized on 10th
March 2014. Ex-Air Chief Marchal
Pradeep Naik, was the Chief Guest of the programme & Dr. N.M. Aston, Chairman,
B.P.H.E. Society was present as the Chairman of the programme. Students
Magazine ‘Reflections’ was released on this day. The activities included Annual
Report by Director, address by Chief Guest and vote of thanks. This was followed
by Prize distribution and cultural programme. The programme ended with dinner.

• Mrs. Swati Barnabas attended two days workshop in ‘Research in Progress’ organized
by Department of Library and Information Science, University of Pune, during 18 –

• Mrs. Swati Barnabas was invited as one of the resource person for Ph.D. course work
Part I conducted by IMS, Ahmednagar on 9th
July 2013. She guided on the topic
‘Review of Literature’.
• Ms. Vasudha Deshpande attended National level workshop on Library Automation
software ‘Koha : a open source software’ organized by Gokhale Institute of Politics
and Economics, Pune during 9th
– 11th
August 2013.
• Library has been conducting Orientation programme to the new students admitted
every academic year. Library tour & orientation for fresher’s was conducted during
academic year 2013-14. The students were scheduled in a batch of 25-30 students
and they were given information about the library by Mrs. Barnabas & library staff.
The orientation was conducted on 26th
July 2013 for MBA students, on 30th
July 2013
for MCA & on 2nd
August 2013 for MPM students. The tour cum orientation
encouraged students to use the Library by motivation & thus inculcating reading
habits and self study among the students.
• The program ‘Author speaks’ was conducted to raise awareness about the author’s
books, and to provide platform for author-user interaction for the optimum usage of
the library collection.
The IMS, Learning Resource Centre organized ‘Author speaks – Big Boss’ i.e. a book
talk for Management students in association with M.P.M. Course. The Chief guests
were renowned author, Mr. Anand Awadhani, Founder Unique Features and Mr.
Sanjay Joshi, Ex-CEO Idea Cellular, under the auspices of the Information Literacy
Programme (User education). The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Anand
Awadahni. The programme had the exhibition cum display of the posters of 16
marathi speaking CEOs from different companies lime Parle, Merico, Mahindra and
Mahindra etc. with their photograph and biographical details. The release of the
Library’s Newsletter Vol.4, Issue I was done at the hands of Mr. Joshi. A book
exhibition was arranged by ‘Uday Book Agency’, Ahmednagar. The programme
received best wishes from Mr. Pravin Kulkarni, CEO, Parle Group of Industries who
sponsored their product which was distributed to the participants. The programme
motivated the readers and educators in order to foster good reading habits.
• Two days State level seminar on ‘Library Automation’
A two days State level Seminar on ‘Library Automation’ co-funded by University of
Pune was organized by IMS Learning Resource Centre on 23rd
– 24th
October 2013.
About 25-30 participants took part from all over the state. The Chief Guest for the
Inaugural function was Dr. Madhukar N. Shewale, Librarian & Head, Library and
Resource Centre, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik.
The other dignitaries were Prof. Amol D. Potgantwar, Head of Dept. & Asst.
Professor, Computer Engineering, Sandip Institute of Technology & Research Centre,
Nashik, Prof. Jayant M. Nandagaoli, Assistant Professor, Department of Library &
Information Science, HPT Arts and RYK Science College, Nashik, Dr. Nanaji
Shewal, Librarian Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune and Dr.
Sanjay K. Desale, Assist. Librarian, Jayakar Library, University of Pune.
The objectives of the seminar were:
1) To provide opportunity to select library software, e-resources and online
databases.
2) To acquaint with methods to fulfill requirement of users and different
committees.
3) Library automation using Koha Open Source Software.
• Mr. Shankar Rashinkar attended National conference on Changing Trends in
academic Librarianship in electronic environment organized by Chandmal Tarachand
Bora College, Shirur, on 13th
& 14th
December 2013.
• The Library organized the sale of old and bound books related to Management &
Information Technology on the occasion of Alumni Meet on 8th
March 2014 &
Management Day on 10th
March 2014. All users were encouraged to visit the exhibit
& approximately 155 books were sold to the users at a very reasonable rate.

• Mr. C.D. Mohite attended a one day workshop on ‘Online Eligibility Process
Training’ organized by University of Pune on 24th
July 2013.
• Mr. M. R. Dixit attended a one day training program on ‘Examination online system’
organized by University of Pune on 21st February 2014 at Amrutvahini Institute of
Management, Sangamner.
• A financial grant of `. 1,00,000/- was sanctioned by the University of Pune for
purchase of heavy duty Xerox machine.
• A financial grant of `. 3,00,000/- was sanctioned by the University of Pune for
construction of Toilet block.
���� IMS- Videocon Academy of Fine and Performing Arts Activities ����
• In May 2013, students from third year to sixth year and also passed out students of
Bharatanatym and Kathak appeared for the Exams of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya
Mandal, Miraj. The result was out in July 2013 and all the students passed with good
grades.
• Four Academy Students completed Diploma in dance, Bharatanatyam. It is known as
‘Nrutya Visharad’. The names of the student are Mrs. Varsha Pandit, Ms. Ashwini
Bhore, Ms. Kavita Bhmbare and Ms. Natasha Pandit.
• In September 2013, Academy celebrated its 12th
Anniversary Function. It was
celebrated as two days dance Festival on 28th
and 29th
September. Mr. Jayant Yelulkar
was the Chief Guest on first day and Mrs. Usha Deshmukh on the second day. On
both the days Bharatanatyam and Kathak dances were performed. Classical, Fusion
and semi classical performances were showcased by students and faculty members of
the Academy. The Program was appreciated by the audience.
• On 16th
February 2014 academy students and faculty performed in IMS campus on
the occasion of publication of biography of late Dr. S.K. Halbe.
• On 13th march 2014 students and faculty members performed on the occasion of
International women's day program 'samvad' organized by IMS. It was theme dance
based on women.
• On 21st march 2014 VAFPA students and faculty members performed in gyandeep
VIdyapeeth , Pune in International conference in presence of Smt. Pratibha Patil,
former president of India.
