Step 1Colour in Douglas and his friends. Then stick each character onto some cardboard.

Step 2 Cut four pieces of string; two that are 15cm long and two that are 30cm long.

Step 3 Carefully cut out the characters and attach them to the mobile by threading the string through the loop hole provided and securing with a knot. Using two different lengths of string will make the characters hang at different heights from the mobile.

Step 4 To make the holding frame of the mobile arrange the lollipop sticks into a cross on a table. Stick the lollipop sticks together with sticky tape. If you are using a coat hanger for the frame, you can tie the characters to the hanger instead.

Step 5 To attach the characters to the lollipop stick frame, use the string you have already stuck on them. Place one character at the end of each stick and one in the centre of the cross.

Step 6 Cut four more pieces of string, all about 40cm long. These pieces of string will allow the mobile to be hung up.

Step 7 Tie a piece of 40cm long string to the end of each stick.

Step 8 The four pieces of string needs to be pulled upwards towards the centre of the frame and tied together in a knot. Leave a small length of string surplus above the knot so you can hang the mobile.

What you will need:

• Mobile shapes of Douglas and his friends• Colouring crayons or pens• String• Cardboard• Child safety scissors• Glue• Sticky Tape• Lollipop sticks or a coat hanger for the mobile frame
