Eugenie grew up in a time when society had misconceptions about what a girl could or couldn’t do. Eugenie proved to the world that not only are sharks smart, beautiful animals, but as a girl, she could learn and practice science. In doing so, Eugenie made great contributions to the field of zoology!
If you could practice or study anything you wanted, what would it be?
Below, draw yourself doing what you would love to do when you grow up.

Shark BitesWhip up some yummy snacks for you and your friends to enjoy while reading about Eugenie and her sharks!
Shark Fin Jello Cups
INGREDIENTS:• Blue Jell-O
• Whipped Topping
EXTRAS:• Small, clear dessert cups
for serving
• Plastic spoons
• A sheet of thin, gray craft foam
• Glue
DIRECTIONS: 1. Make the Jell-O according to
the package directions. Pour evenly into each dessert cup, leaving room to add whipped cream. Place in the refrigerator to set.
2. While the Jell-O is setting, cut out shark fins from the gray craft foam. Glue the fins onto the spoons handles, covering about 2 inches. Let them dry.
3. When the Jell-O is set, stick a spoon into the Jell-O but leave an inch or more of the handle exposed. Cover the Jell-O with the whipped topping, making sure to get it around the spoon handle and to the bottom of the fin. Dive in!
Under the Sea Graham Crackers
INGREDIENTS:• Graham crackers
• Shark gummies or Goldfish crackers
• Blue frosting
• White ball sprinkles
• Rainbow sprinkles
DIRECTIONS: 1. Crush up a couple
graham crackers so it resembles sand & set it aside.
2. Frost ¾ of a full graham cracker rectangle so it resembles water. It should look wavy!
3. Sprinkle the crushed graham crackers on the side of the cracker where the frosting meets the end. This is the sandy bottom of the ocean.
4. Add a gummy shark or Goldfish crackers to the water and use the white ball sprinkles to make air bubbles. Make some colorful plant life using the sprinkles. Enjoy!
Shark Bark
INGREDIENTS:• Chocolate melts –
light blue & white
• Shark gummies
• Pop Rocks or sprinkles
EXTRAS:• Parchment paper
• Toothpick
DIRECTIONS: 1. Melt the chocolate in the
microwave. On the parchment paper, drop dollops of the chocolate, alternating the colors. You’ll want to make a rough square shape and use all of the chocolate.
2. Using a toothpick, swirl the chocolate together. Go fast so the chocolate doesn’t harden and keep it in a square shape. Keep swirling until you like the results! It should be roughly a 3⁄8” to ½” thick.
3. Add the shark gummies evenly over the chocolate. Put enough so that when it’s broken up, everyone will get a shark.
4. Decorate the rest with your Pop Rocks or sprinkles. Let harden. Once hard, cut it into multiple pieces and take a bite!
