Babysitters CourseThis course is designed in compliance with the Canadian Red Cross to help children learn child care, injury prevention and basic first aid skills. They will learn important safety tips for children of all ages, how to handle emergencies, how to cope with common problems such as tantrums and crying as well as some great games and other ideas for having fun with children. There is a multiple choice quiz at the end of class.

VI Mountain CentreGPS Adventure

If you want a hands-on, exciting introduction to GPS units and the fundamentals involved in Geocaching, this program is for you. After a quick introduction to GPS history, their uses, benefits and limitations for navigation, skill building and entertainment, participants run through our custom Adventure GPS course. Our course consists of finding flag controls as well as navigating between activity stations where participants have to complete physical and mental challenges such as throwing spears at targets or rebuilding a wooden structure from memory. Free PlayThis free drop-in program run by the Early Years Centre and PacificCARE is geared for kids ages 0-6. There will be numerous play stations set up outside for children and parents to explore and move between at will. This is not a structured program, but more a place for families with small children to gather and get to know each other. Stations may include thing such as water tables with sponges and bubbles, art stations with water painting, coloring and stamps, physical stations with hula hoops, balls and obstacles courses. You may also find useful information about community resources in our area.

Make magic mud and polymer putty, erupt a volcano, see a soda pop geyser, build a variety of paper planes and gliders, try fabric dyeing, watercolor painting and pastel work and much more!

Tennis LadderEnjoy Tennis?

Join the Black Creek Community Centre’s Summer Tennis Ladder from July 1 to August 31! It is a fun and flexible way for local tennis enthusiasts to meet and compete against other tennis players. Players will communicate between themselves to organize matches in their own time in order to move up the ladder making it easy to take part. Original ranking occurs chronologically in order of registration, so the earlier you sign up the higher your rank! Throughout the summer, there will be a posting of current rankings where you can check where you stand!

Thrifty Foods Young Chef’s CampsCalling all Young Chefs!

ACV is excited to announce our continued partnership with Thrifty Foods! With their generous support, we will be offering the Young Chef camps again this summer - this fun and energizing camp feature hands-on educational nutritional snack preparation and fun physical activity. Be prepared to move and eat healthy! Youth learn basic foodpreparation techniques, the importance of healthy eating and the fun of creating and enjoying their own yummy snacks. They will also learn how to choose tasty food at the local Thrifty Foods store, and customize their own recipe book to take home. Plus there will be fun games, a tour of Thrifty Foods and swimming on the last day of camp.

Soccer TotsSoccertron’s enthusiastic coaches focus on motivating young players by creatively introducing soccer skill development. This program runs for 5 consecutive days, with each day’s session being 1 hour long. During each session there are themed skills that the coaches target for development. We ensure that these skills are taught correctly so as to form a foundation for future growth. Each session is packed full of safe, nurturing and enjoyable soccer skill exploration. Soccertron - Full DayThere is no better start to the season than a full week at Soccertron to prepare players for those important pre-season practices and try-outs. With lots of hours of instruction, we pack

almost a whole season’s practice time into one week. Emphasis is on improving individual skills and developing techniques such as creating space, communicating, defending and attacking as a team. Improvement through fun and exciting skills and drills is balanced with a refreshing water-fun session at the end of each day.
