Jordy Albino

1.Principle of Designrandom rhythm, contrast

Justification: has random placement of white blocks on the windows of each level and contrast of window sizes.

Element of Designvertical lines, and 2d shapeJustification: has flat rectangle design and vertical lines showing the strength

2.Principle of Designasymmetrical balance, regular rhythm.Justification: both sides aren't the same if you put a vertical line through the middle, but there is a piece in the top that looks like it balances it out, and it has a same pattern of windows going up

Element of Designvertical lines and 2d.

Justification: has vertical lines show the stability and and 2d characteristics.

3.Principle of Designregular rhythmJustification:same pattern of windows on each level and sideElement of Designvertical lines, and 2d formJustification:has vertical lines going to the top of building showing the large building and 2d rectangular structure.

4.Principle of Designregular rhythm, unity, symmetrical balance

Justification:same pattern of windows in a rows and columns, and consistent use of lines used to make windows to show unity and symmetry would be shown if you were to cut the building in half, it would be the same in both sides..Element of Design

horizontal lines and 2d shape

Justification: use of horizontal lines in this small building, and rectangular 2d shape building

5.Principle of Designasymmetrical balance, and random rhythm

Justification:both sides aren't exactly identical but you can see that it looks as if they would way the same on both sides and the and there seems to be a random rhythm of where the windows are placed horizontally.

Element of Designhorizontal lines, 2d shape

Justification:the’re horizontal lines in this house representing the calm type nature of the house and is a flat surface rectangle 2d shape of the building.

Conclusion1. In what way do certain elements or principles identify the time period in which a structure was created? the horizontal and vertical lines used together with a 2d shape indicates a less modern design. 2. What factors might account for an incorrect identification? How much is seen in the image and the angles it is seen from. 3. Describe an example of a way that design principles and elements could impact the function of a building.

it can impact the feel and aesthetics of the building, and the integrity of the structure.
