HISTORYQCC’s Veterans Club was established in 2014. In 2015 the club became a member of the national organization Student Veterans of America (SVA).

Our club’s mission is to provide military veterans, their family members, and active military members with comprehensive support services.

These service include: advocacy and resources to support their successful transition to Quinsigamond Community College (QCC)

MEMBERSHIPMembership is open to anyone interested in supporting our military and their family members on campus.

Meetings are held once a month during the academic year.

We also engage in “fun” activities that are usually done on a monthly basis.

Some of our activities have included: cook-outs, bingo, fishing trips; eating out; and various field trips.

We plan events to help in our local community by assisting the local veterans shelters and hospitals. Also, we collect various things like reading materials and hygienic supplies to send to troops still serving overseas in care packages.

VETERANS LOUNGEQCC offers a students lounge for veterans in Room 258 A of the Administration Building. The Veteran Affairs offices are co-located with the Veterans Lounge.

This lounge is equipped with a new computer and printer allowing veteran students to complete academic assignments in a setting that is set aside for them and their peers. In addition, a new 50-inch television with dvd player is available for use.

The lounge is also furnished with couches, chairs, and a table and chairs. Also, veterans can find a coffee maker, commercial refrigerator, and microwave. There is also a free food pantry for any veteran.

The furnishings and equipment were purchased through a $10,000 grant from Home Depot and the Student Veterans of America.
