Thiswarrantydoesnotcoversurfacediscolorationonstainlesssteelenclosures. Surfacediscolorationcanoccur fromavarietyofenvi-ronmentalconditionsoutsideofHydroPoint’scontrolsuchaswind-blownsoils,waterquality,andcontaminants.
Thewarrantydescribedaboveisinadditiontowhateverimpliedwar-rantymaybegrantedtopurchaserby law. (All impliedwarranties,includingthewarrantyofmechantabilityandfitforuse,arelimitedtotheperiod(s)fromdateofpurchasesetforthabove).

Station KeysTheWeatherTRAKETPro3incorporatesstationcountmodularitybyusingstationkeys.Thestationinput/outputboardsareavailableintwoconfigurations,uptoeither12to24stationsor12to48sta-tions.Toincreasethestationcountfrom12to18stationsorhigher,insertastationkeyintothestationoutputboardfromlefttoright(seeFigure6).Thestationkeywillilluminatewhenactivated.Thecontrollerwillautomaticallydiscovertheexpandedstationcountwithin30seconds.

Wall Mounting InstructionsLocatethe2mountingholesonthebackoftheenclosure.Thetwouppermountingholesarekeyholes.Thisdesignallowsthetwoupperfastenerstobeinstalledfirst.Theenclosureisthenslippedoverandpusheddowntocompletetheinstallation(seeFigure7).Usetheenclosedblue-coloredpapertemplatetolocatetheseholesaccurately.Typicalmountingheightforawall-mountenclosureisbetween41”and48”aboveafinishedsurface.

Athirdmountingholecanbefoundinthecenteroftheenclosurebelowthestationinput/outputboard.
Beforedrilling,verifythatthecontrollerislevelandverticallystraightbeforeinstalling.
Step 1. Removetheouterdoortogainbetteraccesstotheinterioroftheenclosurebyslidingitupwards,thenplaceitinalocation to prevent damage.
Step 2. Markanddrillnewmountingholesusingtheblue-coloredpapertemplate,thendrillappropriatelysizedholeswithahammer-drillasneeded.Useplasticinsertsandmountingscrews(tapedtothecontrollerwiththeenclosurekeys)tosecurethecontroller.
Step 3. Hangtheenclosureonthesefastenersandverifytheen-closureismountedlevelbothverticallyandhorizontally.
Step4. Locatethethirdcentermountingholeandinsertthelastfastener.Tightenallfastenerstotheenclosuretosecuretotheverticalsurface.

Connecting the Controller to AC PowerThefollowingwiringdiagramsandinstructionsindicateACpowerconnectionstobothwall-mountandpedestalstylecontrollers.
TheWeatherTRAKETPro3seriescontrollerincorporatesadualvolt-agepowersupplyforawiderangeofcommercialapplications.Thecontrollercanbeconnectedtoasinglephase120Vorsinglephase220Vsource.
Theinputsideofthetransformerhas5color-codedconductors.Alabelisattachedtothetransformerbodywithidentificationforeachconductor.Twooftheconductors(specificto220Vconnections)havebeenterminatedwithwirenuts,shortenedandtiedtogetherwithazip-tietoavoidconfusionfor120Vinstallations.
Note:BeforemakingaconnectiontoyourWeatherTRAKETPro3seriescontroller,disconnectthepowertoavoidelectricshock.Thisinstallationshouldbemadebyaqualifiedelectri-cianandshouldmeetstateandlocalelectricalcodes.
Step 1. Confirmthecontrollerhasbeensecurelyfastenedtoaflat,verticalsurfacebeforestartingthiswork.
Step 2. Opentheenclosuredoorandlocatethetransformermountedtothechassis.Threadanapprovedweatherproofplasticorgalvanizedmetaljunctionboxontothe1/2”nippleandsecurewithaconduitlocknut.
Step 3. Connectapprovedconduittotheundersideofthejunc-tionbox.
Step4. Pulltherequirednumberofconductorsandterminatetheminthejunctionboxwithsufficientlengthsothatwirenutconnectionscanbemade.
Step5. Removeapproximately1/2”ofthewireinsulationoftheconductoranduseanappropriatelysizedwirenutbasedonthenumberofwireconnectionsbeingmade.Adheretolocalandstateelectricalcodes.
Step6. Thegroundwireshouldbeterminatedwithanappro-priatelysizedeyelet(includedongroundingstud)andsecuredwithanutwiththeintegralstarwasherlocatedwithinthejunctionbox(seeFigure8).

Irritrol Wireless Rain Switch InstallationStep 1: Mounttherainswitchreceiverwhereitcanbeeasily
accessedandobserved.
Note:Donotinstallawirelessrainsensor withinmetalenclosureswheresignalstrength isdiminished.
Step 2: Forwall-mountinstallations,routethereceiverwiresthroughthebottomoftheenclosureintotheinterioroftheenclosure.Deburranyfielddrilledthroughholesandinserta¼”insidediameterrubbergrommettoprotectfieldwiring.Addasmallamountofsiliconesealantwherethesensorwireentersthegrommetforaddedprotection.Avoidshortingwiresfromanopenthru-holewithoutagrommet.Ashortedwirecancausepermanentdamagetothecontrollerelectron-ics,anissuenotcoveredunderwarranty.
Step 3: Locatetherainsensorinputterminalblockintheupper-leftcornerofthe24-stationinput/outputboard.Thisterminalblockisdesignedtoberemov-abletofacilitatefasterconnectionofrainsensorwir-ing.Toremove,simplywiggletheterminalblocksidetoside.Remove the rain switch wire jumper before installing the rain sensor wire.(SeeFigure10).

Step4: Removeapproximately3/8”ofwireinsulationtoexposethesolidorstrandedconductor.
Step5: Confirmtheleverofthescrewlessterminalisintheuporunlockedposition.Inserttheexposedwireandpresstheleverdownwardtolock.Confirmcontactbygentlypullingdownontheinsertedwire.

Step6: Connecttheredwirestothe24-VACterminalstoredcoloredterminals.Theseterminalsarenotpolarized;eitherwirecanbeinsertedintoeitherofthetwofarleftterminalpositions.
Step7: InsertthewhitewireintothewhiteterminalandthebrowncoloredwireintoblackterminalasshowninFigure11.

Step8: Locatetherainswitchtransmitterwithinthemanu-facturer’srecommendedrange.Locatethetransmit-terwhereitwillreceiverainfallwithoutobstruction.Confirmcommunicationtothereceiverbeforemountingpermanently.
Step9: Testtherainsensorfunctionbypressingthetestswitchontopofthetransmitterforabriefperiodoftime.Confirmthecontrollerdisplays“RainSwitch”intheRUNmenuwhenthetestswitchisdepressed.

Connecting a Flow SensorTheWeatherTRAKETPro3seriesiscompatiblewithDataIndustrial(BadgerMeter)IR220series,CreativeSensorTechnologyandNeta-fim(usingreedswitchregisters)irrigationflowsensors.
To connect a flow meter:Step 1: Locatethesix-positionterminalblockinthemiddle
ofthefirst12-stationoutputboardandlocatetwoinputsforflowsensingonthefarright.Thesearelabeled“FL1”/”VC”andreflectthecoloroftherecom-mendedshieldedflowsensorwire(seeFigure12).

Connecting a Hand-Held RemoteWeatherTRAKETPro3seriescontrollerscomestandardwithhand-heldremotecapability.Compatibilityissimplyplugandplaywithnoadditionalwiring,software,activationorprogrammingrequired.TheWeatherTRAKETPro3seriesisdirectlycompatiblewiththefol-lowinghand-heldremotes:
• RainMasterTM PROMAX-UA with 32 EX extension cable (soldseparately)
• TRCTM-TRCommanderorSidekickSeries(soldseparately)
Note:TheseproductsareavailablethroughlocaldistributorsandarenotpartoftheWeatherTRAKproductline.

Presstheplusorminusbuttontoincreaseordecreasethefactoryde-faultvalueof15GPM.PresstherightarrowbuttontoselecttheDelayPeriod.Thisvaluecanbechangedbypressingtheplusorminusbut-ton.Presstherightarrowtomovetothenextscreen.
Set Extended Leak DelayThis feature is exclusive to irrigation systems that incorporate nor-mallyopenmastervalveswherealeakisdetected.Correctiveactionisneededtopreventwaterwastageorpropertydamagefromsatu-ratedsoilfromacontinuousleak.
IfaleakpersistsbeyondtheLeakDetectdelayperiodandthenbe-yondtheExtendedLeakDelayperiod,thecontrollerwillimmediatelypostanExtendedLeakAlertandcloseanormallyopenmastervalve.
Anexampleofhowthisworksmightbewhenawindowwashercon-nectsintoaquickcouplerontheirrigationmaintofillbucketsofwa-terinordertowashwindows.FillingthebucketsinitiallymaycauseaLeakDetectAlert.IfthewaterisleftonbeyondtheExtendedLeakdelaytimeperiod,thecontrollerwilltakecorrectiveaction.
TheExtendedLeakalertallowsnormalirrigationtooccurassched-uled.Ifthewindowwashercorrectstheconditionbyturningthewa-teroff,thecontrollerwillautomaticallyclearthealertafterthenextirrigationcycle.
While remaining in the“Leak Detect” screen press the right arrowbuttontothefieldfollowing“+”toselecttheExtendedLeakDetectDelayPeriod.Thisvaluecanbechangedfrom“Off”toaselectedvaluebypressingtheplusorminusbutton.Therangeis1-240minutesinone-minuteincrements.Presstherightarrowbuttontomovetothenextscreen.
Set Station High Flow Offset %Thestationhighflowthresholdvaluecanbesetusingapercentagethatappliesgloballyforallstations.Thepercentagerangesfrom5%to80%aboveeachstation’s“LearnedFlow”or“AssignedStationFlow”(ASF)value.Thepercentagevaluecanbesetin5%increments.
Press theplusorminusbutton to increaseordecrease the stationhighflowoffset%.Presstherightarrowbuttontomovetothenextscreen.

This isaglobalsettingappliedtoall stations thatare learning. If somesta-tionsrequirealongerdelayperiodtoensureaccuraterecording,theywillneedtobelearnedseparatelywithalongerdelayperiod.Allow-ingtoolittletimeforlearningcouldleadtofalseHighStationFlowAlerts.
Therangeofthedelayperiodis3-10minutesin1-minuteincrementsandthefactorydefaultvalueis3minutes.
