Action Taken Report on “Yeh India Ka Time Hai” Celebration of 70 years of Independence & 75th year of Quit India Movement
As per directive received from M/o Human Resource Development, vide letter
no F.11018/15/2017-CDN (part), Tezpur University organised “Yeh India Ka
Time Hai” Celebration of 70 years of Independence & 75th year of Quit India
Movement at the University campus on September 09, 2017.
The following activities were organised to celebrate the event:
Manthan: A “Brainstorming Session” was organised among the students of
Tezpur University on the topic: "New India 2022: Prospects and Challenges of
Higher Education". The brainstorming session was moderated by Dr. Gaurangi
Maitra, Scientist, DBT Nodal, Tezpur University. Six students from different
disciplines of the University, viz. Mr. Snehasish Parashar, Department of
Physics, Ms. Sneha Roy & Maitreyee Dutta from Department of English &
Foreign Languages, Mr. Arindam Sinha, Department of Mechanical Engineering,
Ms. Suparna Neog, Department of Business Administration and Ms. Rabisah
Kabir, Department of Food Engineering & Technology participated in the event.
Apart from the students, the “Brainstorming Session” was attended by faculty
members, research scholars and administrative officers of the University.
“Sankalp Se Sidhi” pledge: The Brainstorming session was followed by
“Sankalp Se Sidhi” pledge. All present on the occasion have taken the pledge
very enthusiastically with a view to take the country forward.
Rock Concert: After taking the pledge a rock performance from “Voodoo Child”
a Guwahati based rock band followed. A large no of students actively
participated in the rock concert and enjoyed the performance.
Publicity of the event: The event was publicized through local dailies and
through All India Radio, Tezpur. The Sentinel, a local English daily and two
Hindi dailies viz. “Dainik Purvoday” and “Pratah Khabar” published the news.
Besides the action taken report of the event was uploaded on the University
website for public viewing.
