Long Term Goal:-
Apply 21st century Teaching approachesto develop the concept : how to name carboxylic acid & other related functional groups according to IUPAC system.
Short Term Goals:-
Change my directions skills to increase understanding level of all types of students (average & weak especially)
Give simple questions & structures to develop the critical thinking in students.
Apply encouraging skills by giving the chance to students to practice IUPAC naming directly on the class board.
Give different conditional cases for naming of carboxylic acids to the groups of students with time & encourage the sharing of ideas.
I start intervening skills during group discussion to rectified mistakes of students.
Instructional Strategies/Tasks:-
I will give mixed examples of carboxylic acid in the group of students to name in specified time. I will ask simple questions to explain how to
write correct name of given example.
I will show power point presentation to create interest in IUPAC naming
I will give exercise questions in the form of short quiz to students in pairs which have been randomly grouped .
Solutions to Anticipated Challenges
Challenges
There may be electricity problem
There may be some students who don't want to work together
There may be discipline problem during pair discussion
My college computer is not working properly

I will bring hand outs
of the lecture.
I will randomly group the students to encourage collaboration with all class students.
I will give incentive in the form of certificates to those pairs who will complete their work in time with well behavior.
I will bring my net book.
