Transcript of Action Challenge 1
Congratulations on your commitment to this program.
Here are your LESSON ONE
ACTION CHALLENGES
Action Challenge 1
Notice and seek out moments when you feel uncertain. For example, if you
walk into a party and don’t know a soul, see if you can really hang out with
the uncertainty of that situation. I don’t know, but you may need to do a lil
party crashing. If, however, this leads to any kind of arrest, you’re on your
own, dude. For all of us, some sense of uncertainty is not far off. Breathe
deep when you feel it and welcome the sensation.
Three times I noticed I felt uncertain:

Action Challenge 2
If someone asks you something that you really don’t know the answer to,
be up front about not knowing. “Don’t pretend that you know more than you
do, ok Bubbee?”
Action Challenge 3
This week see if you can catch yourself—five times—attempting to push
away uncertainty. How did you do it? Write this down so that your patterns
regarding the unknown start to become clear to you.

2.)_________________________________________________________
3.)_________________________________________________________
4.)_________________________________________________________
5.)_________________________________________________________
Action Challenge 4
Go for a walk and relish what is unknown during that journey. Start to
welcome and discover the uncertainty that is ever present.
Check box after completing your walk. Just do it.
Action Challenge 5, The Non-Actor Challenge.
This one is for you Non-Actors. As I said - this program is for you. Even
though at times it’s going to feel like I’m only talking to the actors. So, let’s
nip this in the bud right now. In the chart below when you see, for example,
“Audition” on the left hand side of the page, I want you to write on the right
side of the page your equivalent. So for example next to “audition” you may
write “present your ideas to your co-workers”, or “ask Vivian for a date”, or
“ask for a raise”, “perform your song at the farmer’s market”, or “ face that
blank canvas, pick up your brush and begin.”
This way every time you hear the word “Audition” during the Program, you
will know what it means to you. This exercise will keep you engaged in this
Program. Don’t think this is ever NOT about you. Have fun. Start filling in
your equivalent, and as you go through the Program feel free to add more
to the right and left sides of the chart.
