Improvisation is a way to tell if the actor is coming from an authentic place. We should see who is a natural performer.

JUDD BATCHELOR
Actress / Writer / Producer / Director
Founder of Etienese Productions
Judd (aka Judith) Batchelor is an accomplished Actress/Writer/ Producer/ Director. She has worked
in the arts for more than 20 yrs- she believes this is her true calling. She trained at Mountview Theatre School-
one of England’s prestigious Drama Schools. But she credits her craftsmanship to her mentor the late Gene
Frankel; The legendary acting coach based in New York who trained Morgan Freeman and Maya Angelou.
Judd, a published playwright, wrote the highly-acclaimed one-woman play 'A Mother Speaks' which
debuted at London’s Hackney Empire in 2008. She has gone on to write many other short films and
stage plays such as her new production “88 Crowley Road” - which is now available on DVD.
She quotes;
“Coming to Antigua has been one of my dreams. I have trained many young and mature
actors, and seen many of them go on to work in major TV, Stage, Film and Commercials.
Now my aim is to come here to develop Antigua’s talent. “It’s time for Antiguans to
shine on the world stage!”
Why Antigua? Her Father the late David Jeremiah Batchelor was born in Antigua and as a child she
saw that her father was very proud of his homeland. This is her way of giving back to her parents for all
of their support in her creative endeavours - albeit their wish was to see her become a Doctor or
Lawyer. But she knows if her parents were alive today they would be proud of what she is doing for
the Caribbean.
