Act ІGroup 1

Scene 1After the prologue, Sampson and

Gregory fight with Abram and Balthasar.

All the people in the streets start fighting with them.

Benvolio tries to break up the fight but Tybalt disagrees and they fight.

The prince arrives and breaks up the fight and threatens to kill the Montagues and the Capulets if they fight one more time.

Scene 2Lord Capulet and Paris are talking

about Juliet getting marriedBenvolio has been sent to find

RomeoHe’s depressed because Rosaline

has become a nunThe Capulet servant gets Romeo to

read the list of people to invite to their party and in return he invites Romeo to the party.

Romeo agrees to come after talking to Benvolio.

Scene 3Lady Capulet and Nurse is telling

Juliet that girls younger than her were getting married and she needed to get married to Paris, the man her father found suitable.

Juliet said that she’d try to like him.

The servingman comes up and tells Lady Capulet that the guests have arrived and dinner was being served.

Scene 4Benvolio and Mercutio are trying to

cheer Romeo up by making fun of him.

They are trying to get Romeo to go to the Capulet’s party.

They eventually get him to go.

Scene 5Tybalt recognizes Romeo and tells

Lord Capulet, but he says that as long as he isn’t causing problems it’s fine.

Romeo meets Juliet at the party.They kiss.Juliet went to go talk to Nurse and

he realizes that she’s a capulet.Juliet realizes that Romeo is a

Montague.Then it goes to Act ІІ.
