*Only use colours with a LRV of 40 or higher where non-cement based substrates are used

LRV - which means the approximate “light reflectance value”- is a value which represents the percentage of visible light reflected by that colour.As a general rule, the lighter the colour, the higher the LRV value.

White has a value of 100% and reflects all visible light. Black has a value of 0% and absorbs all visible light.All colours fit within those two extremes.

All colours on this chart are suited to coating the RSA cement renders - where a masonry wall is the substrate.Where other substrates are used, the darker the colour, the more heat is absorbed into the

surface and as a consequence, the substrate under that coating.Mid to dark colours (with an approximate LRV of less than 40) are not recommended for use over light weight and other cladding systems.

Due to the percentage of visible light that these colours absorb, the accumulated heat will cause damage to the substrate in the form of warping and premature failure.

Polysand 800 is available in a fine-medium grain and is suitable for a broad range of building substrates.
