Few binder chemistries for industrial coatings match the simplicity and performance offered by water-borne acrylic resins from Dow Coating Materials. In the field, our acrylic chemistries help applicators set up faster, spray safer and return to service sooner. In the factory, they help manufacturers maintain production speed, increase volume, and satisfy consumer preference. All with a signature combination of high performance and low VOC.

PRIMAL™ EmulsionsBased on nationally recognized acrylic emulsion technology, PRIMAL™ Emulsions are used extensively in the industrial coating of wood, metal, plastic and concrete substrates. They offer easy handling, low-VOC capability and high performance in water-borne coatings. ROSHIELD™ EmulsionsFrom factory-coated furniture to field-coated joinery, ROSHIELD™ Emulsions offer fast dry, excellent hardness and resistance properties, and warmth over fine wood substrates. These properties are helping formulators, coaters and manufacturers meet increasingly stringent VOC targets while maintaining aesthetics, process speed and productivity. MAINCOTE™ EmulsionsFeaturing the industry’s first water-borne binder for direct-to-metal (DTM) application, MAINCOTE™ Emulsions continue to set the standard for low-VOC metal coatings. Available as one-component andtwo-component solutions for new build and maintenance of structural steel, storage tanks, bridges, railcars, and interior and exterior coatings for commercial buildings.

AVANSE™ TechnologyFrom one-coat finishing to multi-layer maintenance and protection, coatings made with AVANSE™ Technology offer one-component convenience and performance level that stands up to a wide range of environments. These properties are helping to expand the use of water-borne coatings for maintenance and protective applications. FASTRACK™ EmulsionsAcrylic water-based traffic paints are not flammable, can be applied at ambient temperatures and offer the potential to reduce VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions related to road striping by up to 90 %. Combined with their excellent road performance, this makes them a preferred road-marking solution from the points of view of worker’s safety and environmental impact.

Replacing solvent-borne coatings with high-performance water-borne alternatives can offer many advantages, including reduced solvent exposure and associated health risks, fewer concerns with flammability and the impact on insurance costs, easy soap-and-water clean-up, less hazardous waste disposal and associated cost, and, in the case of one-component coatings, less mixing and less waste.

More PerformanceDow Acrylic Emulsions help water-borne coatings perform at a level that is comparable to solvent-borne coatings and in some cases better.

More SafetyLow odor, low VOC and no flammability are key applicator benefits offered by Dow Water-borne Acrylics for industrial coatings.

More FlexibilityMaking the switch from solvent-borne to water-borne coatings often allows for trades to work side by side, helping to keep project schedules on track.

Less MixingAcrylic Emulsions from Dow bring high performance to one-component water-borne coatings that are ready to spray with less mixing and no induction time.

Less Clean-UpSpray equipment is easier to clean and rinse water is easier to dispose of when applications are made with water-borne coatings powered by Dow Acrylics.

Less WasteOne-component coatings powered by Dow Water-borne Acrylics have no pot life. Applicators can use what they need and save the rest.

Set up faster and spray safer with water-borne coatings powered by Dow.

About DowDow is a leading supplier of acrylic resins for water-borne industrial coatings that can offer safer and easier handling, faster set-up and application, lower VOC emissions, and performance properties that equal or surpass traditional solvent-borne options.Whether your application requires corrosion resistance for direct-to-metal (DTM) applications, early block resistance for wood furniture, or a durable, high-gloss finish for concrete flooring, water-borne acrylics from Dow offer a wide spectrum of performance properties that can be tailored to suit your application needs.

Dow technologies can help you make the transition quickly and effectively, with minimal capital cost or downtime, equal or better coating performance, and all the ease and convenience that comes with the use of water-borne coatings.

Road markings, which provide lane delineation and important guidance to drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and other roadway users, are essential to roadway safety. Since Dow introduced the first fast drying water-based road marking binders in the early 1990’s, FASTRACK™ Emulsions have been the market leader and set the standard in highway markings worldwide. FASTRACK™ Emulsions used in conjunction with glass beads give excellent durability for a long service life and allow for high levels of retroref lectivity for good night time visibility. Dow’s FASTRACK™ Emulsions range allows the paint formulator to produce paints to achieve the required durability, dry speed and budgets of the market.

FASTRACK™ 3427A 50.5 24 FASTRACK™ 3427A Emulsion is a 2nd generation 100 % acrylic polymer for fast-dry water-borne traffic marking paints with improved durability and adhesion. Traffic marking paints based on FASTRACK™ 3427A Emulsion feature fast dry over a broad range of application conditions and excellent durability in terms of retention of glass beads for night visibility, and wear properties over asphalt, concrete and old markings.

FASTRACK™ 53 51.5 34 FASTRACK™ 53 Emulsion is a 100 % acrylic polymer designed for use in water-borne traffic marking paints, especially when application occurs under marginal conditions of temperature, humidity and air flow. Commercial applications and road trials have proven that traffic marking paints formulated with FASTRACK™ 53 Emulsion are significantly faster drying in high humidity, low temperatures and poor air flow conditions, compared to conventional water-based traffic paints. This fast dry capability dramatically improves the resistance of markings to early rain showers (early wash-out resistance) and the higher Tg offers improved dirt resistance.

FASTRACK™ HD-21A 49.2 25 FASTRACK™ HD-21A Emulsion is a 100 % acrylic polymer for high-durability traffic markings. It is designed for situations where existing water-borne paint equipment is available, and where the additional benefits of rapid drying and excellent glass bead retention are critical.
