Hot Rolled Steel Plates, Sheets and Strips for Automobiles

The materials stipulated in this NES shall meet NES M0301 "Substance Use Restrictions." 1. SCOPE (1) This Standard specifies hot-rolled steel sheets and strips (hereafter referred to as steel sheets, and when steel sheets and steel strips are indicated in distinction from each other, they shall be referred to as sheets and coils respectively) for automobiles manufactured by Nissan. (2) Steel sheets of the RP Standard shall apply to the regions where purchase is available through iron and steel manufacturers in Japan and North America approved by Nissan. Further, steel sheets of the SP standard (only for hot-rolled) in the regions where the RP Standard can apply are classified as a standard allowing continuous use only when there is a track record of placing an order. There shall be no new adoption of SP standard steel in this specific region. (Since some manufacturers may not have capability of manufacturing the steel sheets which meet RP Standard, steel types shall be determined in cooperation with the Purchase Department.) The Standard shall basically apply to new vehicles using steel types determined at Steel Decision Meetings after October 2000. 2. SPECIFICATION AND SYMBOL SYSTEM OF STEEL SHEETS The specifications of steel sheets shall be specified by the following symbol system drawing. The steel sheet specifications shall have two standard types, the RP standard (exacting specifications for thickness tolerance) and SP standard (thickness tolerance shall remain unchanged) for non-approved manufacturers. The specifications of RP standard steel sheets shall be designed per the following symbol system drawing.

SP210 3.3 Tensile test The dimensional tolerance of the tensile strength, yield point and elongation of steel sheets and test pieces for use shall conform to Table 3. 3.4 Bending test When the steel sheet is bent according to Table 3, no crack or breakage shall occur on the peripheral surface.
