Acidex Compound Alginate Oral Suspension provides relief from heartburn with acid indigestion. Before you take Acidex: Take special care if you are: • allergic to any of the ingredients of Acidex • on a sodium restricted diet: 10ml of Acidex contains about 6 mmoles of sodium.Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines, especially: ACE inhibitors, analgesics, antibiotics,antiepileptics, antifungals, antimalarials, antipsychotics, bisphosphonates, penicillamine.Acidex may be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding.Acidex contains ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) and butyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause an allergic reaction (possibly delayed).How to take Acidex: To be taken by mouth, after meals and at bedtime. Shake bottle well before use.Leave 1 - 2 hours between taking Acidex and other medicines. The usual dose is: • Adults and children over 12 years: 2 to 4 (5ml) spoonfuls. • Children 6 to 12 years: 1 to 2 (5ml) spoonfuls. • Children under 6 years: Not recommended.If you take more Acidex than you should: Contact your doctor or pharmacist.Side effects are occasional and may include constipation, flatulence, stomach cramps and belching.
