Thursday, February 03, 2011 Dear Parents of Nathanial Ablah: The summers seem to grow shorter every year and soon the 2010-2011 school year will be here. I am looking forward to the beginning of another great school year. Enclosed in this packet is the information necessary to enroll your child for the 2010-2011 school year. You are encouraged to enroll by mail by sending a check for all appropriate fees along with all other forms to: Andover Central High School, 603 E. Central, Andover, KS 67002. If you do not wish to enroll by mail the office will be open to accept payments every day from 8:00 – noon and 1:00 – 3:30. The office will be open late on August 10th from 12:30 -7:00 p.m. Go to: www.usd385.org website--Your student’s schedule, locker # and any changes necessary for parent and student information can be done by logging onto PowerSchool – your passwords are: Student Web Id: EKI5 Student Web Password: XEJQ Parent Web Id: JGRT Parent Web Password: ROAW Carefully check each child’s information on the Student Information Form and make any necessary changes either directly on PowerSchool or the enclosed form. School Messenger is a calling program the district uses to help parents and students stay informed on issues such as school emergencies, school closings, activity cancellations and individual attendance issues. School messenger will pull information from PowerSchool so it is very important that the phone numbers listed for home phone, father’s cell phone and mother’s cell phones are accurate. Even if you only have cell phones, please list the major cell phone # under home phone. Counselors are not in the building until August 9th. Their schedule is as follows: • August 9th – New students-by appointment only: 8:00 – 4:00. Please try to bring a copy of a

transcript or have one sent before you arrive. • August 10th –Only returning students with “See Counselor” printed on their schedules. There are

no appointments on this day. The office will be open from 12:30 – 7:00 p.m. • August 11th – Remaining new students: 8:00 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 3:30.

Meet-Your-Teacher Open House is scheduled for Tuesday evening, August 17, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 pm. Please come and meet your child’s teachers for the new school year. All incoming freshmen and high school students new to the district are to report to school on Thursday, August 19th in the auditorium at 8:00 a.m. for an orientation session. All Andover Central High School returning students in grades 10-12 will begin normally scheduled classes on Friday, the 20th. Buses will run normal routes both days.
